Default turbo iroc 88mm l92 402 lq9 build

Hey everyone just thought I'd share my build with you, first a little history. 89 iroc z previous setup was a 383 SBC with 76 mm single turbo. I had it dynoed with a 72 mm Turbonetics with a q trim wheel. It made 530 rwhp @ 10 Psi and had crazy exhaust pressure, blowing header gaskets constantly. The q trim proved to be too small so I upgraded to a pt76gts. It really came alive and I didn't get a chance to dyno it again because the oil pump pickup fell off and wiped the mains. Soooo I bought a junkyard lq9, l92 heads and a stroke kit from tsp, 402 CI wiseco pistons eagle h beams and eagle 4.00 crank along with a turbonetics 88mm t6 Turbo!
Pics and view coming soon

If you are going to make your own K-Member you should build it to fit the downpipe. Like the turbo K-members for the fourthgens.

Hey guys sorry I'm slackin on the pics, ill get em up soon. My iroc weighs about 3400 with the z06 wheels and hawks adapter spacers. I have an 8.5 rear out of a 77 Buick(happened to be the correct width) out of the junkyard (factory c clip eliminators 28 spline axles) also I'm running a tko500 with factory driveshaft. All the suspension is stock, shell be a dyno queen until I get some good drivetrain parts. The hotside will be totally custom made by my brother manny, utilizing stainless steel headers crossover and 4 in stainless downpipe. The Turbo is an older Turbonetics t6 88 mm. Pretty sure its ball bearing. Also will be blow thru Carb with fmic. Pics coming I promise!

im kind of at a standstill right now, i still need an fbody oil pump pickup tube, fbody power steering pump, alternator bracket, and also need 8 offset rockers for the l92 heads. i bought a set months ago and just realized the ones i got are ls7 rockers and wont work
just need these few items and im ready to drop this motor in and have my brother srart fabbing up the turbo system.

4sfedss, i just looked at your pics and it looks great! wondering if your running a factory kmember? is that an ac delete heater box? the pass header looks great! whats on the driver side? manifold? my old setup was very similar but i dont see your wastegate? mine was recirculated to the dp. i want to try and squeeze the t6 88 in the same location. its going to be a challenge with a 4 in downpipe recirculated gate and a factory k member.

Thanks, yea its a factory kmember and an ac delete box. The driver side is a factory f body manifold, and the wastegete is tucked in front under the manifold just before the turbo flange vented to atmosphere. Yea it would be tight to get a t6 in there, im now going with an st80 but im sticking with a t4 flange so its not going to be as massive as yours. Im sure you could get it to fit though. You could always notch the sheet metal a little and fill it in nicely. Im planning to use a 4" DP with my next set up too, and im about to notch the frame rail in the back near the firewall while i've got the engine out so it can clear.

Ok thanks man, I was going to to go the manifold route( I have a 98-99 passenger side manifold that I was going to use) I decided to go with the custom headers instead. Ill have to lay the motor in and see what kind of clearance I have. I also thought about positioning the Turbo sideways on the driverside; the dp would go down and across to the passenger side and the inlet would be perfect for a fender/ battery tray cold air intake and the compressor outlet would line up with my ic piping. The ic outlet currently is between the radiator and headlights, I'd basically have to switch the in and out but it should work. Ill just have to do some mocking up once I get the motor in.
