Default Anyone used the gm performance lsx 376?

I was wondering if anyone on here has used the gm performance lsx 376 motor? It is built for boost and is very affordable my question is what will it handle for power? Has anyone tried running this motor with boost? I am interested in running the motor if it can handle a bit of power.

For those that don't know what motor i'm talking about or are confused I posted the link below. It is the first motor on the page the lsx376.

If you search around you wont find a whole lot but from what I found most people haven't given it a try due to the powder rods. I think I found one corvette build using it. Good Luck

Well thanks for the input so far guys I guess if the rods were the only weak link they could just be switched out.

i was thinking about using one of these for a fi build also but for the money it seems you can build much better.

It's 6k for the AES motor, and yes the lsx block would be stronger but with it having the powdered rods, that would be it's weak point and let go sooner

Also I believe the pistons are 4032 not 2618 so they won't handle as much either. Sounds like it's good for about 12 psi range.

Stock LS rods haven't proven to be the weak point in any engine yet, as far as I know. I know it seems odd to use them in a "built for boost" engine and I don't understand it either, but they also have never proved to be an issue in a LOT of stock crank, stock rod, forged piston, stock cubic inch boost setups. I am absolutely certain it's good for past the 12psi range. People run that much on completely stock setups with higher compression.

Lots of people running 700-800whp on totally stock bottom ends, even with the older non floating pin rods, these have to be at least the floating pin rods which are stronger right? You would think you could run 800whp with this engine very safely seeing what everyone does with stock bottom end truck engines. And where are all these catostrophic stock rod failures people are always alluding too? Im not saying it doesnt happen I just never see it actually happen in these posts, just talked about. Personally the LSX376 makes me drool, but so does the AES 370 and 390. Hard to go wrong with any of it.

this is a valid point, i was reading something on that yesterday and was little weirded out by that.

I was also a little weirded out by the LSA motor in the new CTS-V with cast **** when the zr1 got the titanium and forged setup. OH well. mystery to me, lol

If someone wants to send me one, ill be more then happy to see what it can handle lmao
