2000 camaro, stk. susp. 28x10.5/ 275DR, 427LS, 8500 rpms, Glide 1.80 low gear, 118mm turbo. Going to be running 1/8th mile. Whats your opinions?

Really?

Based on the limited info I would be looking at a 3.50 or numerically lower gear. Alot of factors come into play when selecting the gearing though.

Why are you using suck a big turbo for eighth mile racing? just a question not implying it won't work, seems like a smaller turbo would make more usable power and spool faster.

I don't think we have enough data to pick a gear - but what he gave us:

1/8 mile
8500 rpm
2 speed auto
28" tire

427 with big turbo (800hp?)
This is a drag race combo and 1/4 mile or street driving were not mentioned.

3.50 gears with a 28" tire would have his rpm too low to cross the traps at peak hp in the 1/8th.

I like 3.50 or numerically lower for a street car.

here, have fun:

I was thinking 4.56 or at least 4.10 with a 28" tire and only running 1/8 mile
