Default F1A vs Twin GT35 turbo setup

I can get a complete F1A setup, 2 years old for $3,000 minus an intercooler.

Or

A brand new twin GT35 turbo setup, Air to water intercooler setup for about $4,000. Kit includes all brand new parts custom fabbed for my car. All hotside piping is 304 stainless steel. All coldside piping is polished aluminum. Downpipes are 3" Coldside is 3" until it meets in the middle and goes 4" into the throttle body. Turbos have a 1 year warranty. Brand new BMR Turbo K-Member included. Everything is V-banded and tig welded. BOV Is a Tial Sport Q 50mm

The bad:

Some of you wouldn't approve but the turbos are Godspeed Turbos. They do however offer a 1 year warranty if installed by an ASE Certified mechanic (Which is covered). I figure at $519 for both turbos, if one goes out I will just replace it. If its outside of a 1 year warranty, its only $250. No big deal. The wastegates are also made by Godspeed. They are the 33mm GT series. I have done extensive reviewing and apparently if taken apart and de-burr the sharp edges its just like a TiAL wastegate. They also have a 1 year warranty.

On top of that he will dyno tune my car for an extra $250 (Already have HP Tuners on it now)

One more bad I have just come to realize. I need bigger injectors, like 96lb injectors. Injectors are so damned expensive.

So what do you guys think, what route would you take?

I think you'd have much less of a headache with the ProCharger. Bob

^Of course. I have to agree with Bob, JUST because the brand of Turbo's, if you were to buy it and throw on actual Garrett's or Precision counterparts I would say the Turbo's, thye are IN FACT more eficent and can make more power than the F1.

The kit has not been built yet. But it will be built by a speed shop. The person(s) have asked me not to reveal their name yet. They do have experience in building twin turbo kits though.

Turbo kit, and switch out the turbos if you are not satisfied with results.

Procharger! Sounds better, makes a ton of power, easier to install and maintain, less to work with, less room taken up in your engine bay, and even though I said it, you just can't beat that blower whistle

Guys I agree the sound of the supercharger is sex. But if the supercharger takes a **** I am nearly $2400 in the hole. If a turbo takes a **** I am $250 in the hole. A turbo setup is more complicated but you never have to fight with belt slip.
The only things in that turbo kit that are ebay is the air to water intercoolers (One for each turbo) The turbos, and the wastegates. Everything else is name brand stuff. IMHO Its hard to screw up a water/air intercooler. With the wastegates if everything is identical to a TiAL, why not? And the turbos are basically Garret GT45 turbos. I think the only main difference is they are not ball bearing turbos.

If Procharger didnt want $2400 for an impeller it might be a different story. I could see paying $400-$500 for one but $2400...come on...A whole new headunit costs $2925 shipped and thats for an F1-A

Logically I just cannot justify the price for a Procharger when I can get into a decent twin turbo setup for about a grand more.

I think the power levels between the two are going to be about the same.

Oh yea and lets not forget about convenience...If you belt DOES start slipping or shreds, you have to pull the entire supercharger just to change a belt....thats stupid...If you want to change your boost level, guess what....pulling the supercharger again.

Can someone name a downside to having a twin turbo setup over a Procharger setup besides the initial cost?

That replacement cost for an impeller failure is what has helped to lead me away from a blower and now looking at a single turbo. I think you have some very good points but belt slip is practically a thing of the past with the aster bracket and sdce setups for our cars. I've yet to hear of anyone dealing with that issue after swapping to them. I say spend a little more the first time and have no worries on some better name turbos and then see what that that baby will do! It's gonna make power for sure!

You already sound pretty set on the Turbos, so what's stopping you? I agree belt slip is a thing of the past nearly, I wouldn't worry about that. And I also agree Turbos are MUCH better for upping the boost when needed, but I've just been a Procharger guy since I was 11 and rode in a Procharged Camaro that I eventually learned to drive stick shift in, so I have a Procharger background and plan on being Procharged later this year, so I'm a little biased

I'm getting there. I have never been in a Turbo'd F-body. If its like being in a Procharged car with the extra adjustability, I'm all for the twins setup.

It is rare to need to have an impeller replaced. Bob

With a supercharger, the higher the RPM the higher the boost.

Blower is nice but I'd rather have twin 35rs. Get the TT kit and replace the turbos with something nice if when they fail!

A F1A kit for that price is pretty damn good! I want that head unit damn it! lol. You could always save yourself some money and install the Procharger yourself and have an easy 800+ to the wheels on tap v. having to build a kit. If its setup right the procharger wont shred a belt. I would use that extra money and buy Asters bracket IMO.

Oh yeah, give Jon at FIC a shout about their 95lb high impedance.
