Twin Turbo Chevy II build
#183
Frank,
I Just joined and I gotta say this is one EPIC build of the year for me!
I was searching around for Boosted 5.3 LS swaps and came upon your build- it as given me some ideas on my project in the future- mine is a 1971 Datsun 240Z Wide body IMSA flairs that was begging for a boosted V8 and I think I will go this route also but I want to see the outer bouderies of the all aluminum 5.3-has anyone found out what they can take-the car is going to be a street/road race toy
BTW Do i see your next up and coming LS 5.3 project in the background- I also have a 1988 Mitsubishi Starion that I was thinking of dropping in a boosted 5.3 in it also, ah too many toys and yet so little time and MONEY LOL...

Thanks!
Thanks Conrad! Yeah, you did spy my next project. I gotta get this one finished first, but I do have an aluminum 5.7 laying around and an extra pair of billet wheel'd 62's that look like they will find a new home in the Conquest as my daily driver. Good luck with the project! Make sure you let me know if you start a build thread.

My 80's were maxing out around 14psi also. I'm running 160's now, along with a twin nozzle meth kit. Should have plenty of fuel this time around. I'm really curious to see how you fair at the track or dyno so we can compare notes. Your cam is a good bit bigger then the one I'm running.

Been working on getting the front suspension together and the brake's all set up. Also got the bigger turbo's on.
Here is the pedal assembly loaded with 2 separate master cyl. and a bias bar. Had to make up a brake light switch bracket for it.
Billet remote resivoir all mounted up
More cool parts arriving!
Front suspension
Putting the bigger turbo's on
Here is the 67 on the left and the 62 on the right for a comparison

How are you guys running out of injector so low? My 370 inch TT build makes over 1100 rwhp through a loose stalled auto on 83lb injectors without being maaxed right out. I also run dual 625ml meth nozzles and 21psi.

Adding Meth is much less taxing on your main fuel system. I was @ 91% duty cycle on my 9.32 @ 152 pass. Not sure what it was making for power, but it weighed 3553lbs. If I was running Meth I would likely be cutting my fuel up top by 15-20%.

Without meth, the 80 injectors are over 90% duty cycle real early. Once i added a single 625ml meth injector, i was able to pull quit a bit of fuel out. If i added a second 625ml meth injector, i could pull even more fuel. Thanks for the tip tirefryin, i'm going order another meth injector because i don't want to spend $1k on bigger injectors! lol
