At which point should i upgrade to the Procharger BIG red race valve and why?

Default At which point should i upgrade to the Procharger BIG red race valve and why?

So im running a ls2 with 4.005 -11cc wiseco pistons, callies 6.125 rods, stock stroke, ported and polished 317 heads .. super vic intake, 80lb injectors with a d-1 procharger with a3.4 pulley... 15-18 lbs of boost exspected... And im wondering when i should upgrade to a BIg red race valve and why... when is the the black procharger bypass no good.. Why cant i run a waste gate like a turbo car.. Im new to the boosted area and would like to know more. thanks

I'd say you are well into the range of needing the big red. Its never too early to get one, and my guess would be that once you go much over 8-10psi you are better off with it.

Yea, it'll get you by. I'd still put it on your radar for next mods tho.

I plan on it .... im cutting it close on my build .. and im wanting to get it going, its all going into my 68 camaro... you running the big race valve

Vortec makes a bypass valve that I believe is a bit cheaper, the "mondo"... IIRC its around $100 cheaper

If you are still running the pro-flow bypass, I assume you still have the twin intercoolers?

Another option is to add a second pro-flow on the passenger side tubing in a similar location as the driver side. Its a cheaper option.

No, its a gto kit, one intercooler... im using it in a swap in my 68 camaro

You can't run a wastegate because a wategate goes on the exhaust side of a turbo kit.

You can run a blow off valve with a small spring. I did it for years. Not sure if you ls guys have a maf sensor. Do you?

I use the Vortec piece on a D1 spinning to about 59k RPM and making 14-15psi. It seems to work well.

Similar builds run 15-18 lbs of boost...so thats what i want lol... Im exspecting 750 to 800 hp. I running a ls2, wiseco -11 dish pistons, callies 6.125 rods, ported and polished 317 heads with bigger stainless valves, 80 lb injectors, 232/240 .595/.608 115 lsa cam ND d1 procharger with a 3.4 pulley

HOw much does that map sensor cost? PEople are back and forth on this maf/ sd debate... some people say i need to run a maf for climate change back and forth .. IM streeting my car mostly ... but i here is sd is done right there wont be any problems
