What hp will this setup yield and what fuel system will be needed? Hey guys looking to get some light shed on my setup. I have read that if you want to be comfortable with mid-high range rwhp its a must to run 60# injectors and dual 255lph pumps for the fuel system. That though is all based on what whp the car will be producing. I have been leaning towards going the dual pump and 60's but I dont even know realistically what kind of numbers the setup will be producing. My last car was a procharged 5.0 and in the mustang world a single 255lph and 42# injectors can go a decent way in terms of power. Low mileage Trans Am 100% bone stock ls1 engine (may install ls6 intake) Planning on 6-8psi Tuned with hptuners Turbo setup consists of: Master Power MP T70 .96 Turbo 38mm Tial Wastegate 50mm Tial Blow-Off Valve Standard Truck Flanges and T4 Flange Mandrel Bent Fabricated 2.5" Merge Pipe, and 3" Downpipe 3" Intercooler and Cold Pipe Will this give me power numbers requiring 60's and dual 255's or would I be alright running 42's and a single 255? I plan on running more boost a couple years down the road but that will be after an lower CR engine overhaul so if I can get away with the smaller fuel system for now I don't care about replacing down the road. I also have thought about addeding a fuel pressure regulator with a 1:1 ratio under boost. Cliffnotes: What rwhp would I expect out of engine + turbo setup running 6-8psi? For my turbo build, I went with the 60# Seima Deka injectors and a single in tank 255hp fuel pump with hot wire kit from Lonnies Performance. Although, most go with Lonnies double pumper setup with Hob switch. For me, I was going to keep it simple until I can build the motor. In a nutshell you'll need those 60# injectors. |
60s and tiwn pumps is a must to be safe in my book. |

Did you get the Bixenon's sold then? If you plan on taking it past the 6-8lbs you might as well just do it while you are in there, save you some trouble later. I know you said you don't care, but instead of waiting for parts to sell to get the bigger ones, you may save yourself some trouble It should have no problems making in the 400s, and I am sure once you hit that you may to get close the 500s since you will have enough fuel to do it. Then again like you said you plan on going bigger and better for it all. Oh and from what I have been reading on here, the 60# injectors are good to 600hp numbers, so as long as you have enough pump to support it, they should get the job done until you go big. |
Thanks for the input guys, I really am not too worried about what #s it will put down but I would like to be prepaired and not over/underestimate my needs. H.o. the headlights are still up for sale, I might just put them back on the car as they are doing no good sitting boxed up. There are quite a bit of supporting mods suspension/trans/rear end I need to do so like I mentioned before if the car is conservative I don't mind. |

dual pumps and 60's are my vote as well. At the very least do a 255 in tank and a boost-a-pump. |
