Will post some pics shortly of the 408 dissassembled completely. Number four main was pooched, some scoring on crank. Rest of engine looks ok. Engine shop buddy will be taking it from here. Not top priority on the 408. Assembly of the 427 should be proceeding next monday have to clean parts and get things all ready for that.
Not sure what happened to the 408. But obviously it had to come out and what was found would account for its oil pressure going to zero issues after warm up.

I have an ERL LS3 427 M1 coming for my 2010 ss m6
I'm swapping the ERL m1 427 dry sleeve out with the stock bottom end I'm running a whipple sc I will have to pick a cam etc like the bottom engine removal might try that. Question what oil pump will you run?

I am running slp pump. Slp double roller chain. Ls9 would likely be good cam for you as well. After all it works great in the zr1.

You never take this thing to the strip yet you have a 2-step on it?

Not hating at all, you have a very nice car, I'm just getting an idea of its use.

I think it was three or four months from time ordered till time got it but told them no big rush just wanted it to be ready around end march and it was. No problems at all with ERL great company to deal with.

It will see the track a couple times and thats it. Should be getting kicked off pretty easily. It has no rollbar. If put one in and its faster than 10.0 not much point in the six point and would never put in a 10.0 and under one.

But I can still play on street with two step. I don't street race but do go out of town and play a bit against my timers sometimes. Cars best time with the 408 was 12.2 with a 125mph with 2.8 to 3.0 60fts ,extra 300 lbs on board and on the street on toyo drag radials. Wasn't using the two step just launching off idle.Couldn't hook those tires at all. That was at 7.5psi on the standard aps turbos, I now have some et street radials to try out might use them 24/7 see how they work out.
I am going to play with ramping boost by gear and might add variable traction control as well. I have line lock and 2 step both. But no transbrake since it is a street car.

I didn't want you to think I was bagging on you first off

I understand your pain, the reason my car now has a 2-step and a transbrake is so I can actually launch it. On the street I do the same thing you do, spin spin spin...lol With the ET streets on the street I actually get decent traction, but with the 555r's the littlest bit of throttle in 1st will annihilate the tires.

I don't know if you guys have a lot of tracks in canada, but you should really try and see what you can do off the foot brake since you have a line loc. You should be able to build a couple pounds of boost to get a decent launch with twins especially. Just don't sit on the footbrake too long like I did when the staging lights malfunctioned on me. Even an 80e can't take that

Nice big 427 slugs!
LS9 going in :

crank sensor in. erl put in most block plugs had to put in front one that takes punch though. they put in back barbell.

callies dragonslayer ,manley pro rods, wiseco 9.5 pistons.

Cam in ,chain, oil pump. Got windage tray done and spaced as well. Tomorrow heads and hopefully bunch more. Figure couple days should have engine together.

Pic of my buddy he is great mechanic and has his own crazy race cars ,he mostly plays with old school BBC stuff. Most recent is some 600 cube monster that does over 1000hp. It should run 8s maybe 7s its in like 2000 pound car.

M5 superdeck. But 9.5 to 1 not 9.0.
Did more today ,back cover, front, oil pan, balancer, water pump but ran into snag on lifters.
Was going to run ls7 but ls2 valley trays don't work on the 6 bolt optioned ERL. So now have to get link bar lifters or someone told me Kurt Urban or Billy Briggs makes some adapters to think run normal type lifters on these 6 bolt engines. So maybe go that route.Have to do something and quick want this car together but going on holidays from mid jun to beginning of July so not looking good anymore for getting car running by then as only week or so till leave.

Windage tray and pickup, had to space windage.

front cover, back cover, balancer and oil pan. Had to grind front cover to clear slp double roller.Used matching slp oil pump with higher pressure spring.

Got water pump on as well. Hit snag on the lifters can't use ls2 trays with my 6 bolt erl optioned engine. So have to order link bar lifters tomorrow or get think adapters to use my ls7 lifters that already bought.

But tomorrow can work on other stuff, getting stuff swapped over like steering to new aps/bmr kmember. Put on motor mounts, maybe do some stuff on the turbos.
Things to keep me going thru next couple days and by monday or so the lifters should show up and can keep going with heads, etc.

Got couple more hours into it today. Got motor mounts on block, aps coolant feed fitting in the block but the ERL was red loctited and not fun to get out. Had to go buy big 17mm allen head socket ,actually socket set and it came out finally no harm done.

Swapped over front suspension to new bmr/custom made for aps kmember .That went pretty easy. Took some pics post later.
Ordered lunati link bar lifters ,had to for the ERL 6 bolt block option. Ordered them overnight shipping.

New Z06 is helping to scratch my need for speed itch but while its pretty damn fast for a stock car its not very fast compared to my 99TT even last year with its small aps turbos at low boost on my 408.
It should be stupid stupid fast this year on the 427 with the larger turbos.
Debating if should put in 10lb springs right off the bat instead of current 7.5 base springs. Anyone with eboost 2 know if can get to 20psi with the 7.5,usually you only get double the gate springs. It might be better to stock with 7.5 base as plan to ramp in my boost by gear. But want to be able to go to 20psi tops if want to likely only for dynoing. Figure on the street 7.5 to 10psi will be plenty lots for me. Maybe I am getting old !
