single turbo's - which one Hi. I've read, I've searched, but I still have questions... :D I'm wanting to build a home built rear mount turbo for my 99 z28, bit like an STS setup but on a budget and using locally sourced parts. They have to be locally sourced as I'm in England, United Kingdom and it'll make is so much easier and cheaper. So can anyone help with exactly what turbo's I should be looking for? As in makes, models, sizes or any vehicles I might find a suitable turbo on? In the UK there are loads of 2.0 inline 4's with turbo's, but I know these are way too small. Are diesel truck engine turbo's any good or just a no no as well? BTW - only looking to run low boost on a stock short block, nothing extreme. |
A lot of diesels use Holset turbos which could work effectively. |
Cheers.... Ok then. I've seen some eBay kits with T3/T4 turbo's, how suitable are these? |

Have a buddy with a masterpower 76mm for sale, if interested pm me. |
We just did a 76mm in the rear and it spooled nicely. Make sure to leave the stock size piping from the manifolds back. You will want the velocity. |
Mp76qtrim. Best bang for the Buck in a "good" Turbo. They run about 700 dollars. Masterpower is the name brand, they're made in Brazil its the best "cheap" Turbo you can buy. Not sure if the q trim turbine wheel is the best for a rear mount, others chime in here. I guess it depends on if this is a stock motor or has some mods. |

Thanks. Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is that/does it mean? |
