MAGGIE VS WHIPPLE on LS3 camaro (want input)
I have a customer with a 5 gen ss looking at going with a roots supercharger. He pretty much leaves the decision making up to me when it comes to the brand when I order parts for his car & I wanted town to get input from some of you who may have already been down this road. Are the any pros or cons of the 2 when comparing them together? I'm looking at the maggie 2.3 & whipple 2.9 FWIW.

Then ask the right question. Someone might think that it has a different cam, transmission, compression, you never know, it might effect the answer.

Just to bring you up to date......if you look under his original post, the first one at the top of the page.......yea, the first response.......thats where youll find my answer.
I m sticking to it. I dont like boost pumps, or the iats the blowers produce or the cost, or the power curve or the noise.

I just hate it when someone comes in a thread, especially one where a shop owner has already stated it's a customer's vehicle, and that it's not the OP's vehicle therefore it will be pointless and very hard to sway that customer to our side of the coin, even though it has it's many benefits over a s/c.
I felt like there was enough poo flinging in the first part of the thread, thus why I retracted my statement.

I've heard this too, and they say the E-force makes for one helluva street-oriented set-up, but I've heard some say that the runner's being so torque oriented and being designed for under the curve power that they can fall off quite dramaticaly up top. Now I dunno what your customer plans are for tracking the car, but I'd say the E-Force would help get that big pig moving easily and would make for a fun ride in a low stalled auto(2800-3000 verter)

What's the target HP for the car? I'm going to say TVS2300 just to be different, since I actually own one. There's nothing wrong with a Whipple, you can't really go wrong with either one. There aren't too many people making high HP with the Whipple 2.9, but a lot of places have pushed the Maggie to extreme rotor speeds and nary a problem. IAT2's are similar for the same boost levels between them, believe it or not. You "should" be able to get more from the Whipple but so far I just haven't seen one.
