I'm gonna get blown!

supercharger that is. Vortech.. Can't wait!!!

Can someone recommend a good cam , I want something more aggressive than the 218/224.

Goal is 500 to the wheel.

MYTURBOT/A Mar 1, 2004 07:15 PM

Still the only turbo in Orlando  .
Good luck on the new setup, are you gonna have norris do the install?

Got Me SOM Mar 1, 2004 07:23 PM

yea probably since he lives 15 min away from me. I wanna install it myself so I can learnn how to do it on my own, but I don't have a place here to work on it.

was sorta leaning on a incon tt kit but it was out of my range and i got a really good deal.

224/230 .585/.595 on a 114 LSA should work really well............ Room to grow for later too and on a 114 so it wont bleed off the boost you worked so hard to make.

sounds like a nasty cam. I'm gonna see what she pulls without a cam , shooting for 470, then with that cam hopefully right at 500.

I take it that's a Comp grind.

Anyone running the FAST intake with boost? Anybody do any testing yet?

Do a search I had posted up a cam question a few months ago and I go a lot of feed back with cam specs and HP/TQ numbers and there setups. There was a lot of good info and the cam specs that NASTY TA is posting about are real close to the one I am running from FMS FM-7 224/230 586/591 114+4 so call Allen at FMS and talk with him he has another smaller cam that will work just as well with the Vortech kit I think it's the FM-5. Any thing with 4-6 degrees of seperation and no smaller than a 114 I think PSJ said he wouldn't run anything smaller than a 113 lsa so it is a matter of opinion but I like 114 and up there is a GT2-3 from Lingenfelter also so just do a search on cams or you can look up mine there are other too I was not the first with this question I just happen to get a lot of response ETC... Good luck! Your going to love it!

Cool! Look at Comp Cams XE series and also talk to Mike he will steer you in the right direction! He is good when it comes to FI!!! Which trim did you get?

Pro Stock John Mar 2, 2004 11:48 AM

I like Kyle's cam suggestion, plus you'll have the stock balancer off anyway. And you will want better valvesprings so all in all I would do the cam at the same time.

I think 500-525rwhp with the converter locked.

Inspector12 Mar 3, 2004 11:25 AM

FM-5 will be fine on your bottom end or any other of the above noted cams as well. You will need good springs and I would look at the crane 832's if you go for the FM-7 or something in that range they are good for .650 lift and better than the 918's although 918's will work. I was thinking like PSJ in the 500's. Good luck on everything I am going with the G trim to startout. It has done very well for a few others 30th436 and a few others I can't think of right now but I can always get a T trim later. Well I'll see how it goes.

Got Me SOM Mar 3, 2004 07:01 PM

sweet. For now I'm gonna enjoy the car as it is, take it to shows, etc etc. I'm on the stock tranny with a stall and shift kit and the stock 10 bolt with a stock bottom end. I will be lightening my wallet quite a bit so for now I'm gonna take it easy and hope nothing breaks or blows up.

I think I have the G trim I'm not sure, its whatever comes from Vortech. sorry I just a newb.

I'm getting really anxious waiting for my parts to come in so I can drop the car off.

I was advised not to make over 500 rear wheel on my stock bottom end or it may go boom. don't want that..

Inspector12 Mar 4, 2004 07:35 AM

Yeah the G trim is what comes with the kit I just got mine a month or so ago. That 500 rwhp is conservative there are quite a few people putting down more than 500 at the wheels and they are living for very long periods of time and with very little trouble. All I am saying is not to worry to much if and when you do put down 500 + to the wheels. You will be fine as long as you take care of your car ETC... I am just waiting on my heads. Called TEA yesterday and they still haven't given me a shipping date. I am getting excited so I am a little impatient right now. Let me know how it turns out. It looks like you still might get your stuff installed before me if these heads don't get here.
