Default In the 10's on 8lbs with videos

I copied this from another post I made on here in the drag racing results section.

I was only able to make 3 runs and got kicked off the track on my last pass.
1st pass I missed 2nd gear, 2nd pass I missed 4th gear and ran a 11.1 @ 117 mph. Things were odd as it is pretty rare for me to miss a gear at all, but two gears in one night!? I was warned to not run that fast again but I wanted that 10 second slip and I wasn't going home without it. I also ran these passes with my cutout closed going through factory slp dual dual exhaust. I gain quite a bit with it open.

3900' Density altitude @ 2300' elevation
3rd pass
60: 1.635
330: 4.585
1/8: 7.067
MPH: 100.88
1/4: 10.94
MPH: 128.73

Setup: 128,000 mile stock bottom end with valve job / milled 243's (11:1 compress)
Bre 224 n/a cam (single pac 1518 beehives, valve float above 5800 rpm)
Ported fast 85
KYTP Truck manifold setup with Precision 76GTS on 8lbs of boost
Alky Control Meth injection with 100% meth and 92 pump gas
3700lb + raceweight
MWC Fab 9" with 3.50 Gears
T56 with Mcleod RXT Twin (amazing clutch)
26"x11.5-15 M&H Cheater slicks
Stock slp bilstein shocks with lowering springs
Stock Lower control arms

Here is some GoPro action, I know I missed 2nd gear but look at it laying down the rubber

Nice, get your 60 foot in the 1/4s and you will run 10.4s all day.

If only I could shift as fast as Tally with out missing gears I might go faster lol! When I tried power shifting I missed gears so I just took it easy and let off in between shifts. It's been upper 80s to low 90s but last night was around 75-80 when I made my runs, I think 3900' DA. I do a quick clutch slip from now on since I'm tired of breaking / twisting ****. I twisted my slip yoke and my suspension would bind up, couldn't cut better than a 1.8 60. I replaced my supposed 1000hp driveline yoke with a badass strange chromemoly yoke and instantly start cutting 1.6x 60'. I'm sure with some skinnies up front and some adjustable front shocks I could get the 60' down into the 1.5x range.

Take more time staging the car. Get to the first light and stop. Gradually move the car forward into the second beam. If you are after a better E.T., barely light the second light. I was impressed I could see your shift light come on down track.

Looks real good man. Yea, just picked a chromoly strange slip yoke for mine. The 1350 from pst has twisted splines as well. Maybe thats why mine was cutting 1.85 60ft...haha. Keep up the good work man. Very impressive car!

I used to rev mine to 6800 and keep stabbing the gas so it gets out of vaccuum. Then left around 6500. Would dead hook pull the wheels and run 1.47 - 1.48 consistantly. The two step method didn't work for me, never hooked up like it did just revving it.

Very nice runs! I agree it has more in it. Those M&H may need to go. I traded mine for ET streets and car ran .2 faster in the 60' the first time on them.

what is your launch rpm (what is 2step set at?), and how much boost does your car build on the 2step?

I had the 2 step set at 5600 rpm, it seems to build around 4lbs in less than 1 second. I notice as soon as I release the clutch the boost jumps right to 8lbs. I haven't played with it much at all, I left it at 5600 for my 3 runs. This was the first night I've ran the 1/4 mile with the 76gts. I made 3 other 1/8th mile passes with it a month ago when the track wasn't prepped.

I'm happy to have met my goal to run a 10 second pass. Thats on stock bilstein shocks, lower control arms and 26" tall slicks. Ran those passes through the slp dual dual and opening the cutout is probably worth 30-40 hp as it was worth 17hp n/a. I will put some new valve springs on, fix the wastegate issue (overboost with open cutout), maybe throw some skinnies on with strange SA shocks up front and adjustable LCAs. Powershifting also seems to add 1 mph per gear change so it's only going to go faster. That and our track is staying open until october so I will really be getting kicked out.

I may have to test out my buddies ET streets to see if they help.

Nice runs.
Are you limited to 8 psi because of the compression, or will the meth kit let you run more in the future?
Just curious because I am thinking of putting a vortech s trim kit on my 11.4 to 1 Ai lt1.
Thanks,
Kory

One friend has a set of 26x10.5-16" ET street and another has some 28x10.5-15 ET Stiffwall drags. The one with 28's had to roll his fenders, trim some plactic, bfh mod but I think the stiffwall drags wouls work really good.

I just wanted to get the car working good on it's current power level without breaking stuff. It's my daily driver so I don't want to push it too hard on the boost and timing. The 128,000 mile stock bottom end might not like much more boost but who knows! I plan to push it pretty hard at the end of the season in October to see what it will do with some racegas on 10-12lbs. I would have to guess 12lbs would be over 700 rwhp on my setup, since 7lbs made 580rwhp with my TC76. One thing to keep in mind though I'm not sure if SAE dynojet correction factors are accurate on turbo setups at altitude. 580 with SAE correction but around 550 uncorrect at 2300' elevation. I know turbo's have less loses at elevation than a N/A setup so I think SAE #s are little inflated with turbo stuff at elevation.

yessir very nice to hear, I've never been able to powershift the 2-3 shift, that one scares me!

Thanks for the comments guys I appreciate it. 01z28Camaro was your T56 stock? I rebuilt mine when I first bought the car, has billet keys, 3-4 steel shift fork, new gears and the upgraded synchros. Now that doesn't make the output shaft any stronger though, what clutch did you run?
