Boosted 347 LS's How fast are these forged 347's with 88's and bigger turbos running ? 1/4 and the 1/8 mile . Reason of me asking , I just finished my project . Forged 347 with PRC 6.0L heads , vic jr , gt47-88 , AMS 1000 , th400 , 9inch , 275 radial . I'm now thinking I should built something a little bigger . My goals are 9.0's or even a high 8's .. Am I ok or was think a mistake with the cubes I have selected. Thanks G |
The Fords are going mid 8's with inferior heads and 4788 at 3k lbs or so. Stock heads and AL block may not like it. Mostly the heads since majority of tuners don't seem to be able to make them seal after 15-18psi. Iron 347 with your rotating assembly and aftermarket thick deck heads would be the ticket. Care tuning with the iron block w/stock heads and it may not push water. A 370 would work also but the 4788 turbine isn't as good a match to the extra cubes and won't go as fast ultimately. But still an 8 sec combo with either size motor. here's some links I've found while trying to decide which 88mm I want to buy for my 50/50 street strip combo. I think guys have gone in the 5.1x range in the upper 140s with a box stock gt4788 with something around that size engine on 275s. |
That sounds right i knw the 4788 is like a 1450rwhp turbo I plan on spoolin mine past 1k eventually which would hopefully carry low 9s or even 8s |
Better put a good crank in it and pin the main caps with the ls1 block. I bent a stock crank at around 900ish crank HP with a forged 347 and a PT88 went 9.5@147. Not sure what happened first but we know my crank is bent and the main caps appear to have walked. |
im in the process of gathering parts for something similiar. going m6 though. have a gt47 88. forged 348 |
