the biggest thing to me is tuning in real time, your friend drives and you tune and at this point i know the system so well i can fire a car ive never run on 80lb injectors and we can back it out of the garage and go down the street on 6psi in literally minutes.

its 150 for the ms1, 67 dollar harness and 315 for the MSD box and harness that plugs and plays.

after that i set my timing curve and never really touch it ever again, then i just tune my fueling in real time with the ms1 and im done there too.

i am sure i could take the time to build an MS2 or something and wire into all the coils etc. but honestly i am just not interested, i am waiting till DIY builds a box and harness that plug strait into LSX engines.

it is super easy to tune a MS1 extra code ECU, like shooting fish in a barrel, i could do a video showing the interface and how easy it is, 16x16 fuel table with a map sensor. if you pay 50 dollars for the professional version of Tuner studio (normally freeware but the pro gives you expanded features)

like auto tune, you build an air fuel map for the car and give it some parameters like do not tune under 1200rpm or unless im over a certain map sensor value, so it doesnt **** with your idle or other settings, and then you can drive around and it will automatically trim your fuel table for you.
yeah a video would be great for us to understand... sounds like its just too dam good. i need to try it out but i am buying the MS1 box assemble ready to go.

so i started the install of my correct cam gear after doing some research haha.

i had the wrong one on all this time, thats why the car didnt start right, oh well...

anyway here is a neat sloppy tool, keeps the puller on the crank till you get it off, no more slipping legs.

ok here is the car ripped open right before swapping it out

and here was my problem all along, i had on the one on the left, the 4x event gear for the 58 tooth motor, i needed a 1x for a 24 tooth gen 3 motor like i have... so i threw this thing in and guess what, the car starts great now...

who would have thought lol.

Are you talking about the serial cable that attaches to the laptop. If so DIY has them. If your computer doesn't have a 9 pin serial port you will need to get the usb adapter one.

yeah if you mean the 9 pin you can get them everywhere, the usb to com port adaptors suck though, all the USB to com port adaptors are awful in my opinion, if you have a PC card port i will recommend this beast.

here is the 9 pin cable to go from com port to megasquirt box

drove over to coreys for the obrien motor swap fest, my alt bracket stripped out of the bolt hole in the water pump and ejected, lost my belt, and got the motor pretty hot, and i floored it up the street and it felt like it had 20hp, even though it was blowing off the tires and it was tapping, i was like ****.

we swapped plugs, and it just sounded flat, then it started to sound like it was down a cyl, but no smoke.

drove her home, did a compression check and the back cyl was at 40psi... ****. oh well yank her and throw in some pistons.

so we pull some pistons out of our spare, and yank this motor, and i rip off the valve cover and to yank the head and i see this...

lol tightened her back up and threw the motor right back in, fired it and she purrs like a kitten.
