On a turbo'd car which is better ? Automatic or Manual?

How is boost affected with with manual vs auto?

auto's put load on the motor, so you can build boost at the line, with a trans brake, for incredible launches.

The Manual, you need a stutter box (harlan 2 step is the one i know of for the LS1) to build boost off the line.

For drag racing, and all out speed, i woudl get a auto.

But the 6 speed is just so much fun, i don't care if im slower (see user name ;))

exactly what slow said, IMO...I think 6-spd's are wayyy more fun. Also BOV's on a auto are usually weak (atleast in my experience).

I have a m6, and love it with the turbo and bov, but I think a stalled auto will be faster.

Not so much, not go off as much as a 6speed, but still loud.

does it still make noise during a shift? i would think not because it is still wot with a load on the engine and there would be no "excess" boost in the system
