Big power REAL street cars- check in
#42
Mine-
1- '02 C5 coupe- LSx/hyd roller/TFS heads (what rockers should I be looking at?) Twin TC-76s/Powerglide. Looking to trap 180..ish at the track. It is a no b.s., nothing removed, full weight, radio blaring, a/c blowing, power memory seat for my fat *** having, street car.
How you like driving it with the 'glide? I have often thought about just biting the bullet and dropping a glide in my set-up but wasn't too thrilled about the prospective gas-mileage/highway cruisability of the car.
Thanks in advance!
Dave

Couldn't tell ya. I won't drive it until this summer. It has a 3.42 rear gear and is on 28" tire so rpms around town won't be bad at all. I don't really want to run 75mph down the highway all day, but a 100 miles a weekend isn't out of the question. I think it will be a riot.
Better bring that C16 tune and some nitrous!

Is this car running? If so, how does the turbo compare to the pro charger?

LS2 402, TFS 235's, LS6 intake 75mm TB, A&A YSi CCP 10 rib, RPM A4.
Drove it 200mph to and from Toronto everyweekend when I was tuning in Toronto.
Ran a best of 8.8@160
Going to an iron block this season, TFS 245's and bigger blower-shooting for 8.5's@165 this season.
I have no fear of getting in this car driving 500 miles.

Any of you guys running A2W intercoolers and driving on the street? What intercooler and and how many gallons of water in your water tank? Are you using the water tank for the intercooler and for your motor or are you running a radiator separate from the A2W setup for the motor? I am leaning hard towards A2W with a intercooler from frozenboost.com and a 5 gal water tank for Chiseled Performance. I really don't want to cut a big *** rectangle in my front airdam and would benifit from the extra weight in the rear of my El camino if i had a water tank next to my fuel cell. Are you guys having any cooling issues as far as motor running too cold or too hot?
Thanks fellas,
Dee

um, made 620 on pump gas and 10#, made a lot more on race gas, but I have no use for driving around town on race gas, so I just keep the small tune up in it.
iron 5.3
BS3
TH350 RMVB + Brake
80mm Borg Warner/Bullseye turbo
9" with 3.55
275 DR
No back seat, but stock everything else as far as interior. has no AC, but still has heat (just need to connect the 2 lines to the heater core, but it still has the heater half of the HVAC box)
I cruise it around just fine, to and from work, to and from school, spent this afternoon cruising around woodward and stuff. While I don't drive it around turned up (only because i'm not spending a lot of money on race fuel just to cruise) it is capable and has made some decent numbers.
shitty pic at the school parking lot
I wouldn't hesitate to drive from Michigan to Florida if I had an over drive trans and put a set of 17 or 18's back on it.

I consider my car to be a true daily driver. Full weight/full interior car, big stereo system and ice cold A/C. I wouldn't say it's a budget build but I have quality parts and I wouldn't think twice to drive it on a 1000mi round trip.
LS2 w/Callies crank/rods, diamond pistons, ARP everything, Moroso Oil Pan
Mild cam 224/224 .581/581 114
Stockish LS6 Heads with dual springs using LS9 head gaskets
Truck/C6 manifold kit, Tial BOV, Precision Wastegate, Ebay 4" intercooler
Dual intank pumps w/#8 feed, factory feed as return, Speed Inc fuel rails, boost-referenced Aeromotive FPR, FIC1000 injectors
Built T56 with Stage 6 Monster clutch (clutch is holding great, tranny is another story)
810rwhp/880rwtq on 18psi and 14* (very low) timing in 100* + heat index
I think 900hp is possible in better weather on 21 psi and more timing but I don't want to push backpressure. I would need another fuel pump though; probably just add on an in-line pump.
950rwhp might be possible with same everything and 5.3L motor

Home built turbo kit, PT7875, retains all factory options, stock wheels, drive it to school and work once or twice a week, leather, etc, 4100lbs+my 300lb ***. I did clean it immediately though, haha.
