F'ing ATI

started my D1SC install this weekend...took me forever to get the friggin balancer bolt out...my dads pos air compressor/impact didn't work worth a damn...a little shop air (from a buddy) cranked it right off!

Anyway, ATI forgot to send me the nice extended bolt/flat washer for the crank pulley....ASSES!!!!!!!

Other than that, I got the bracket on and installed the intercoolers (that was a little pita too)

It will all be worth it when its done. Trust me.

Oh yes it will!!!

yeah i can't wait...it just sucks that I couldn't get it all done in a weekend. I can't believe how much time we wasted with the crank bolt and mounting the intercoolers, but i know it'll be sweet once its done!!!!

Don't forget to either cut that bolt or add some washers. Take it from those of us who have gone through what you're going through ;)

Yea, I don't think my bolt bottomed out before when it backed out, but you never know, I'm using 2 washers w/3 threads cut off the crank bolt

well today I got the fan done, put in the new injectors, and mounted the blower. Now i just need to get that bolt, put on the crank pulley, run the plumbing etc...

are there any standard measures I should take on the crank bolt, or will each setup be different? Should i try 3 threads/2 washers like Bigbos?
Thanks,
Mike

I just used 3 washers, red loctite, and tightened that sucker down to like 200 ft/lbs. Hasn't budged since.

majical word: RED LOCTITE.

when installing the plumbing, get a spray bottle and fill it with soapy water, should make it alot easier.

I have heard that the new ATI kits have the bolt re-sized anyway. So you won't need to cut or use 4 washers.

Yea, I used blue locktite and probably 175ftlbs of torque and it backed out, now I cut three threads and I plan on having each thread with a healthy amount of the red stuff.....:) 250ftlbs too......

GET YOUR CRANK KEYED.. ;) Not as much stress to have the bolt back out.. With me spinning my blower as hard as I am, let me say that without the crank being keyed, I would have had major problems..
