Who's boosting L92 heads? Just wondering who's boosting L92 heads? If so, did they lift? At what boost level did they have issues? |
I'm still testing & tuning but I've seen 11psi with stock LQ4 shortblock, LS9 gaskets, & ARP studs. No problems that I know of but I only have a couple hundred miles on the setup |
L92 heads, LS2 block, LS9 gaskets, ARP Studs @ 80#, no problems at 20psi. |
L92s, Aluminum 403, twin MP76s 23lbs of boost, never lifted a head. Running LSAs on my build, plan on making over 1000whp. http://dbrodsandminis.com/twin-turbo-tbss.php http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjWwHPHxfi0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZfkAp9zuZHM |
A properly prepped head isn't going to lift just because its so-and-so head. Using bolts that aren't up to the task, though...that'll cause a head to lift. |

People say that the L92/LS3 heads have thinner decks. |

Not always so. Veee8 on here used the and lifted them on 15 psi. he had a prepped block and heads and was using head studs. Its more in the tune and fuel used than anything. cjg454 on here is at 20+ psi but he is using e85 which is a big factor. |
Anyone run these back to back compared to a 317 head? I know what the technical differences are between the two. I have both of these heads so I am on the fence on which to use for a turbo build. |
19-25psi no problem. 5.35@133 in the 1/8th. Local car that runs in RS275. |
