Default Turbo lq4, machining, stock or aftermarket

So I picked up an lq4 a month ago and have decided to have it built for turbo. It won't be turbo rite away since money is always an issue. but will be later down the.
The advantage I have is a friend of mine will let me use his machine shop for anything I need. Now I'd like more then 600hp. I've seems stock lq4's push that much, but since I took mine apart should I go ahead and use aftermarket rods, and pistons or re use the stock internals. the more hp I can get the better since it is going into a heavier vehicle. So as of now I'm stuck on what bottom end combinations I should go with. anyone have any ideas?
any input would be appreciated.
