Car doesn't pull through 1/4

Finally made it to the 1/4 for the 1st time this year with the new setup...

Last year I ran 101 in the 8th and 130 in the 1/4; now I have 80-90 more rwhp (fwiw) and trap 106-107 in the 8th but it still only managed to run 130-131 1/4

It revs to 7000 rpm fine in 1st and 2nd but when I shift to third it just stops pulling and hangs around 6100 rpm.

Any ideas or things to check for?

370 with 317's
S475 and tu2 cam
4l80 and 3.54 gears

Valve springs, plugs, plug gap, coils, plug wires, boost leak, tune (rich, kr?), converter slip. Do you have a data log of the run you could post?

buick_lsx Aug 20, 2012 04:56 AM

No data logs...converter slip was 7.6 so good there

Patriot gold duals for springs, and no valve float in first or 2nd...and on the dyno it pulls through 3rd just fine (I know not same as track)

I'm going to pull plugs today and make sure the gap is good and the same as the last set I had.

A/f was 11.0 at first, then changed it to 11.4 and same thing

Plug gap?

buick_lsx Aug 20, 2012 07:11 AM

idk, ill have to check today...i just put back in the previous set of plugs (brisk's) that ran fine earlier this year, and took out the br7ef's. The br7ef's do have a slightly tighter gap than the brisks though.
