Default Pontiac Trans Am Twin turbo (update in post 27)

It's time to create a thread about my car where I can upload photos and videos.
This is at least the car referred to Pontiac Trans AM 1998. He came with LS1, A4, 3:23 ratio, aluminum drive shaft,

Monson cd player and 10 speakers system but no traction control.

Here is a complete list of stuff that's in it now and has been, but I'm still quite probably forgetting something.

I'm going to have this build thread in the the correct timeline as I remember with
text, pictures and video below, when all this is put in and in what order, try to have as detailaš as I can and

then ending up of what is to come in the car.

Stock 98 heads with comp 918 springs
Stock 98 camshaft
Stock 98 bottom end except for ARP rod bolts

Chrome z06 wheels 18"x 9.5" 255/40/18 front 18"x 10,5" 295/35/18 back
All Firehawk options stuff
American Racing TT2 wheels, 17"x 9.5" 275/40 17 front.
17" X 11" 315/35 ZR 17 BFGOODRICH G FORCE T/A KD TIRE Back

Here is the car in Usa driven under 100 miles when it was purchased for export to Iceland in 1998.

And here it is in Iceland and has been repaired on August 20, 1998.

Then I buy the car August 1, 1999, and he is driven 93XX miles. And that picture is taken possibly just before I

buy.

Then in the end of 2002 I bought all the Firehawk stuff to make it look like a hawk, but I do not install it until

2004.

In the summer of 2004 I put the 18 "Z06 rims 9.5 front and 10.5 rear.

Still in 2012, I am still running the same back tire and is on the photo below

Here is a photo and video of him with the Firehawk look and SLP dual dual exhaust which is part of the kit.

Slp dual dual sound

Summer of 2005 I buy SLP Air-Box Lid,

SLP's high-performance 85mm mass-air-flow sensor

LS-6 Intake Manifold because I wanted to keep the stock look

Here is the comparison of the subject. I put the LS6 manifold in the car before the headders and I have to say that

the difference between the car was night and day of just the ls6 manifold, I did not found that much of a

difference in the car when I put the headders on it.

MAC midlength headers with offroad y pipe I chose it because my car is lowered 2 "so that the car would not be

scrape speed bumps as he would do with the long tube that were available at that time.

Was getting tired of the original brakes and decided to get me this kit Front Baer Eradispeed Plus (2 Piece)

rotors, Rear Baer Eradispeed (1 Piece) rotors, Hyper Firm Brake Line Kit (Front & Rear), Hawk Performance Brake

Pads (Front & Rear)
These are some of the best braking rotors and pads that I have tried, in my opinion one of the best mod that can be

done for f-body car is to replace the stock brake rotors

Then in 2007 I decided to make it manual, and then was purchased T-56-2 stage gearbox. And of course the rest of

the items to make it manual

Here is the comparison between manual and auto pedals pedals

Fidanza Aluminum Billet Flywheel, only 13 pounds

LS7 Pressure Plate & Disc og Fidanza Aluminum Billet Flywheel

T-56 crossmember

installed flywheel

and later the clutch

Comparison between orginal hurst and the standard.

UMI Short Stick or orginal started with UMI but never liked it so I installed the Orginal.

All ready, connect all sensors and I've programmed it for M6 with EFILive

Then in the spring I went in there to take the car completely through from A to Z.
I started installing the head and cam package and then I painted the whole car.

Nice pistons considering 61XXX mi.

old stuff from the motor

ready to be assembled

original cam and the new cam. 233/239 11x 6xx/6xx

Some diffrence

Ls2 heavy Duty Timming chain

Cam installed and a new high flow oil pump

ASP Crank Pulley and original Crank pulleys, Size and weight difference is almost 2 kg in those

Here are the heads PRC Stage 1.0 LS6 CNC Ported Heads meš competition valve job og PRC double spring kit.

PRC double spring kit

With more horsepower a better suspension is needed
What I bought was.

BMR Shock Tower Brace, Chromemoly.

BMR Panhard Rod w/ Polyurethane Bushings, Chromemoly, Adjustable

BMR Subframe Connectors, Tubular Chromemoly

Sway Bar Set, 35mm Front & 25mm Rear

BMR Control Arm Relocation Brackets, Weld-In

BMR Lower Control Arms w/ Polyurethane Bushings, Tubular, Non-Adjustable Chromemoly

Koni 4/3 Sport Shock set, optional (double adjustable front, single adjustable rear)

Picturers of the stuff.

http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/8831/img1797hi4.2e824bac9a.jpg[/img]

And then some comparison pictures of stuff that's gone into the car and went to the car.

Stock vs New

Stock vs new.

http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/697/img1793dm0.d71e6e8c0e.jpg[/img]

Then I started to make the car ready for paint

There I“m done painting the car, and began to put together. Finally I“m beginning to see the end of this.

I then received another cool package from USA.

11" rear wheels

nice reflection on these rims

Only to demonstrate wide differences between the back tires that have been under my car.

to the left is 295/35 18 and on the right side is 245/50 16

So here is one picture of the car that was taken of him at the auto show in 2009 just as he looks after all these

changes.

Here is a little idling and action video with him. He's is idling at 630rpm with with both fans on full, not so bad

idle by being a 233/239 113 and the 63x lift, and action is from the Muscle Car days and I running very safe tune

and was running 13.1-13.4 at 115 to 116 miles there was no grip that day.

Than in 2010 I modified the z06 rims because the chrome was starting to look bad

And the wheels on the car

In December 2011 it began to work in my car again becouse I wanted to increse the horsepower by a lot and this time

go all in and replace everything and try to do this as much mean as possible.

This is how he looked before I started taking it apart

engine bay

some of the things that came out of it the first day.

box full of stuff that's going in the car

BMR APS K-member

So here is the difference between the original K-member and Aps BMR K-member. Original is 25.8 kg, while APS k-

member is 12.4 kg the difference anyway 13.4 kg, more than half lighter.

prothane motormounts

Turbo headers installed

This shows the difference between the header and turbo stuff. Headers are 4 kg but complete turbo manifold

altogether is 17 kg.
they are now on 8 kg together, turbo 34 kg so that he gain weight there about 26 kg.

bad boy intercooler

here is the engine getting ready for installation.

Here is a bad phone video when I started the car the secound time with the Twin turbo.

Bought Eboost2, Autometer fuel pressure and Autometer wideband gauges.

Wanted a new blow-off valves so I got Turbosmart Kompact Dual Port Blow-Off Valves

Here are 2 runs with the twin turbo installed this was at a local Musle car day where I live.
1 run was a 12.1 at 130 mph and the 2 run was a 11.7 at 132 mph, 60 ft where around 2.2 and 2.1. This was on bfg

g-force T/A KD tires.

This picture is taken from my best run from 2012 and in the next run I broke my small 10 bolt

Here are a couple of pictures from 2012

Right now, as things stand today, I am looking for rear axle for the car and I“m going to build 7.0l engine this winter for summer 2013.

Great job! I love the fact that you've rescued that car from having a damaged and brought all the way from the U.S. to Iceland, and transformed it into a great looking and performing car, and to top that off you do all the work yourself. Are you going with a narrowed rear end? I noticed that you have a pretty good deep dished on those rear RTS wheels.

enjoyed this thread. I laughed when i saw the trap speeds vs the times after the twin turbo. Curious if your the one doing all the tuning. Next you can focus on weight reduction and a forged motor with more boost. great looking car too!
