Default Intercooler tubing size?

Building a 6.0 with a precision ar 68 turbo. 2.5" outlet on the turbo, I plan on running it to a 3" inlet/ outlet 31x12x3 intercooler. Then plumbing 3" half way to the engine to 4" to the intake. It seems to me that this will help tuning with MAF and probably flow better. My question is will the larger diameter plumbing on the outlet side of the intercooler take away any performance? Thanks in advance for any information.

I usually do 3" pipe and switch the 3.5" before the tb/engine bay. Not a fan of running a maf on a turbo setup
