Question Vortech questions

I have a v9 vortech and Iam building a 375" LS1. What would it take to get 600+ to the tires. Thanks for your help.

Find and read posts made by S_J_H I consider him to be the resident v-9 g-trim expert. He knows that kit inside and out.

You should be very close to 600RWHP.
But you'll probably have to overspin the impeller to do it.

Are you aftercooled?

2.5 pulley with good fuel and tuning will be 600RWHP easily. You'll also be overspinning the blower a bit so watch the revs

Yes I have a aftercooler. I will be spraying a 75 TNT shoot to get out of the hole. Do you all think this would be a problem for the blower? What injectors and pump should I get? Thanks for your help guys.

all you need is 12-13 lbs and maybe a cam. you don't need juice to get that number.

you'll need big injectors and the t rex fuel pump should be fine.

MTI should be able to help you figure all that out.

you don't need the spray. Just a well setup system with a 2.5" pulley and a good aggressive tune.
Adding a 75 shot should make for enough power to run 9's in a decent combo.

What size injector's are you guy's using? People been telling me to use 50lbs and even 60lbs inj. I have set of AFR's coming in a about two weeks and I am going to use a solid roller. That should help.

Well you can't buzz a 2.50 pulley setup high, so I'm not sure how that is will work with a solid roller... mods in conflict with each other to some extent.

I would look into the 60 lb Mototrons they seem to ideal decent if you use an adjustable regulator.

If your going with good heads and a solid roller and a 375 ci motor I have to wonder why your using a V9?
Your power output is limited by the V9. It's entirely possible you will not make any more power than a 346 with mildly ported heads and a stock cam. Although your boost level will be much lower and easier to manage. But it seems like a mismatched combo to me.
I'm running 42.5lb Lucas at 62psi and a single 9th mechanical injector of about 50lbs/hr.

Steve, what is the max rpm you would spin a V9 to (for the most part)?

John,I run my V9 up to around 70K which is at about 6350 engine rpm with a 2.5" and 8" pulley combo. I see about 13psi in cool weather at that speed with the intercooler. It is holding up real well. Bearings are still real tight.
I could see taking it a little bit further as boost does keep rising, but I think after 70K your really pushing your luck with the bearings and drive system.
