Default 06 GTO M6 twin turbo build and I've got questions!

I'm in the gathering of parts stage for my build and need to figure out what I'm going to do about the camshaft that will fit my setup best and wouldn't you know it that this is a budget build...

I'm building an 06 GTO M6 with stock bottom end and mild home ported 243 heads, with 3.46 gears that will be driven all the time and my power goals are 500-550 at the tires to start.

The parts I have...
twin 61's with a 73/64 exhaust side, T4, .68ar
twin 38mm gates
c6 manifolds
80lb injectors

The parts I've got to get
intercooler
fuel pump
pipes
head gaskets
head studs
rod bolts
and a lot more

What I'm working on now is the cam. Rite now I have a cam with 232/236 .571/.578 @ 114 in the car with 918 springs. I've been looking at doing the LS9 or LS7 cam and springs, because the car has weak low end power and I figure the turbo's will make the low end worse. I really don't want to buy a custom cam and springs so I can keep the cost down a bit and I know the LS9 or LS7 cam will get me the power level I want. I guess what I would like to know is would you just put new springs on the current cam or do a LS9 or LS7 cam and springs?

Custom cam. If you can't justify the extra $200 to do it the right way, you shouldn't be doing a turbo build. In the final price of the build, the extra money is nothing.

Well I'm not building an all out setup and feel I can upgrade later if I need to, but for now I don't want to spend a lot of money on the cam setup. We all know a custom built cam would be best!!! This isn't the first or last thing that I will be going with a low budget and by saying I shouldn't be doing a turbo build because of that then you need to tell everyone doing a JY 4.8/5.3 that they need to just save there money because its not going to work. Lol!

I would throw the stock cam in there.

What fuel are you Planning on running?

500whp through a 6 speed will be cake

Lol yes because I clearly said that a budget build wouldn't work.

The stock cam is long gone and I will be using pump gas. I'm just going to start with the 500-550hp and work my way up.

Do it right. I absolutely hate the idle of the LS7 and 9 cams.

I have a Treadstone twin turbo intercooler 9" tall version. Over the radiator model. that just came out of a turbo GTO for $300 shipped. Pm if interested.

What is it that you hate about the idle?

How bad is my current cam I have in the car now for this setup? I've been thinking of just putting some new/better springs in and use it tell I do get a cam made.

Its super mild, sounds like a dump truck. I had an LS6 in a 6.0. Had a cutout but never opened it as it just sounded terrible. Id use whats in there now. Brian Tooley for a set of dual springs and your good to go.

Any ideas on advancing or retarding the cam timing, would it be worth messing with? I'm going to replace the timing chain when I'm in there and may look into getting one to let me adjust it if its worth it or not.
