Default Vortech Guys, Rebuild advice/powdercoating?

Ok guys, just picked up a Vortech V1 S-trim with some miles on it. Owner claimed it has 4000 on it since the last rebuild. It appears to spin good and have no damage but im wondering if i should bother sending it off for a rebuild with Vortech. Whats it normally run? My other question was is it possible to do myself (I have access to a full machine shop with bench press's and all that good stuff) Ive found a rebuild kit online for 250...

My other thing is i know it has the straight cut gears, is it possible to switch to the hellical cut?

Final question... Can I powdercoat the housing or would that have negative affects on performance.

Thanks in advance guy!
