Thumbs up S475/83/T4 Nova 5.7/127 first time out...

Just got my car running last week and figured since they were running tnt sat I would shake it down a little. Car is a 1972 Nova I have been putting together over the last year in my not so spare time. Has a Stock bottom end lq4 that I pieced together from mostly used parts I purchased off forum members over on Pt. Has mild cleaned up stock valve 317 heads and my stg 2 truck cam. Engine is actually heisted from my sand truck. I drive car all over the place and drove it to the track and back 1.5 hrs ea way in 100 deg heat on way there on tires I raced on. Runs were thru full exh just like I drove it there. Car is not finished yet and has a ton left in it. All runs were off footbrake in hot nasty *** air, walking it out of the hole. No 2 step used. Was just shaking car down. This is the 10.30/128mph tune up from my truck. Rundown

-1972 Nova all steel except for bumpers
Stock suspension with caltrac bars, (Guessed where they needed to be and haven't messed with them yet)
-6.0L lq4, 317 heads, JFR Isky 218/112 cam.
-S475/83, T4 @16 psi boost with KBRacing truck turbo kit. 4'' dp full 4'' exh, and muffler. Treadstone a2a I/c.
-Stock truck intake, and TB, Deka 83 lb injectors@75 psi base, E70.
-Holley HP efi, with 2 bar map.
- Stock 8.5'' 10 bolt, strange axles, 3.23 gear.
-Stock case glide basic 750 hp build, YANK SC3000 converter, TCI brake( not used)
-Tires are Gen 1 micky 275's that are shot from street( new pro's on order)
-Raceweight was 3350 lbs with me in car, and 15 gallons of fuel.

Sorry about vid my buddy started filming a little late. This was 5.73/127 mph in 1/8, 1.49 60'. I let off right after 1/8 and on brakes at 1000'. This was 3rd run on car. I have 8.5 cage but no chute or lic.

Ended up going 8.9/157.5 in 1/4 having to let clear out at 150' into run pulling high gear and getting back in. Also had to peddle it around 1000' mark. They ran me right after the jet cars and there was jef fuel all over track. It had a high 60 0r 70 in it but I got screwed. I'll take the 8.9 over a crash tho.

That's awesome man! I also love how you do it with your smallish cams! Running a triple 12 here, and it's great.

I also like how you fit a kb truck kit in a car, very clean!

Awesome outing. What are you running for timing and AFR at max boost? I'm running 14lbs and 16* timing right now but I haven't been to the track or dyno yet to dial it in, I'm also running E85.

Im around 11.5~12:1 afr up top due to the injectors being small. I blended a little 91 with the E85 to richen it up. 16 psi of boost and had 15 deg first passes, bumped it to 18 deg for last pass but you see what happened in 1st half so hard to tell how much it gained..

I was not pleased with the issues with first system but this system works great. Will get you up and running but a little bit of work to get perfect if you are new to the system. All and all way better than factory pcm and dealing with hp or efi IMO. I have a wide band in dash as well I ALWAYS monitor actual AFR never go 100% off log.

Thanks has a magnafuel 750 efi pump, deka 83ish injectors, rated @43psi running 70-75 base psi. Yes it's super torquy and responsive on st even with glide and 3.23. It will top front suspension from dead idle.

Still scratching my head as to how you cut 1.3x 60's , and 150 traps with a t4 , and a 3000 stall on the foot break without nitrous . Just crazy ..... You got **** figured out for sure !

Impressive results!

What is your feeling on the 83mm hot side? It seems lately that the trend is to bigger wheels...especially on 6.0 and up displacement.

Nice work man. Sub 8.50s out of this

On the truck did you keep making power up to around 20psi or so with that turbo?
