Default Fitting Holley Hi Ram under WS6 Hood

I have a VFN hood right now and just dont like how big it is. I am trading for a stock WS6 hood and not sure how the holley hi ram intake will fit. I dont think it will. Has anyone got theirs to fit? and pics if so?

If anything I will cut the hood and the intake can stick out of the hood. This car is not driven much at all so not worried about weather.

Do they make shorter motor mounts for the F-bodies?

Also I know some guys have been able to shim down their front cradles (k members)

Other than that, thats a big but totally bad *** intake, good luck with it

I am not sure about the short mounts. I have shimmed my K member down to make it clear the windshield as I have the cathedral port intake and its a bit taller.

I am going to give it a shot either way. I think it may look badass with the intake out of the hood.

Kinda like the LMR Vette.

looks race car!

If my new cam spun higher, i would do it as well. I don't think i would benefit much with it, so i chose to go to the 102.

Make sure you post pics!

id definitely like to see some photos of the outcome of that intake poking through the hood. that seems iffy, but if you wanna be a guinea pig let me know.

Can you get a measurement from the top of the valley cover to the highest point of the top cover?

Thanx,
Tim

Are the gains over a fast or even an ls6 that large to justify all that work and cutting?

Clearly not.

Depends on whether you wear a skirt or pants

I like the long runners, especially for their cooling effect on my non-intercooled turbo setup.

I don't think it has anything to do with testosterone level or fear, it's a case of logic and reasoning.

If it has big gains over a FAST 102, and you don't mind hacking up your car, then go for it. But some of us would rather just run another lb or 2 of boost and make up for the gains and not have to hack up the car.

I take my car to high end car shows, and having the engine bay hacked up like that isn't attractive to me. It looks unfinished and not thought out, again, my personal take on it. Now if all I wanted out of it was a drag car, then no doubt I'd hack it up.

ditto. if it doesn't look nice its not happening on mine. going fast is one thing, looking good while doing it is a whole new ballgame. IMO the Hi Ram is the nicest looking intake for the cars, and makes great power. If it fit, id have one tomorrow. Too much spacing, and notching for my liking currently and the mini is a nightmare of a product or so I am told.

Just curious.... Why does everyone go after this new intake and the Edelbrock Pro-flo XT just fell completely off the map? I had to cut my cowl and hood to fit my proflo, yes, but it still fit COMPLETELY underneath the stock WS6 hood, because all that was required was to trim the undersides of it. And I didn't do any crazy shimming my k-member or special motor mounts either?

Does everyone just think this one looks better, or is it because it is the "new" thing on the market?

I saw someone recently post that the mini-ram made 20-40ftlbs more over the entire rpm range compared to a ls6 intake, which is pretty decent.

I saw that post as well and it really surprised me. I thought the mini-ram was going to suck.

I know mine isn't an f body, but I thought I could fit the high ram under the stock hood of my Zephyr....I was wrong! I had to trim a small hole in mine compared to the pics above. I think it goes well with my car though. I also saw on yb where they are trying to make an a/w intercooler to fit in the upper plenum of the high ram. Looked very nice, but it made the intake over 2" taller.
