Default FMIC guys with Truck Inlet Hats

To the guys running the FMIC with the truck inlet hats, how do you keep them on the blower.... I've tried every method possible and the hat keeps falling off...It's almost as if the D1SC doesn't have enough lip for the hat to stay on...The longest mine has stayed on is about an hour...

Thank God i had an extra clamp holding the whole assembly to my intercooler piping, otherwise i would have lost the hat and filter on the hwy... Any pics and ideas will be greatly appreciated..I don't want to continue driving a street car around with no filter on the blower inlet....
Thanks in advance guys..
Joseph

T bolt and a bead of silicone. procharger really shorted us on the impeller lip. not much to clamp onto. you could always try and have someone tig a longer lip onto it. havent tried it myself. if it becomes an issue, itll happen.

Good point about extending the lip.....My buddy and i were actually considering that but for now i'm going to switch from the regular clamp to the Tbolt clamp and see how that works out...Thanks

fyi you can zip tie it in place to not only relieve some of the stress and weight, but to make sure that if it does come off (why i recommend the silcone on it overnite) then it doesnt go under the car and hit someone elses car. itll just sit there and flop and youll wonder why you feel like your making 50 more rwhp lol

I would like to see pics also as the truck/filter I bought just doesn't fit too well and seems to hang to low and didn't seem right so just kept the stock hat with a filter.

I tried the truck inlet and stayed with the Fbody inlet on my 2000 camaro. Just plain didn't fit for me - pushes on the radiator shroud (procharger supplied) and sits way to low in the bumper. You can't push it up because of the fog lights. I don't know how people use it.

I cut the raised edge off on mine that solved the problem.

if they do it'll be a one off...i cant see anyone spending money on producing something for a car thats 11-13 years old at this point. this has been an issue for aslong as i can remember....allways thought the truck inlet WAS the fix for the stock supplied inlet hat procharger provides..lol.

im gonna be running the procharger mushroom screen but also bought a truck inlet for those days i get caught in rain so ill see how it fits.

I got mine to fit, but the key is you have to grind off the lip that's on the edge. The lip on the blower is the same width as the clamp, so the clamp needs to sit flush against the bottom of the blower, so you have to trim around the edge of the hat to get it to sit flush.

Like was stated, a t-bolt clamp is also a must. I did those two things and I have no issues with my hat staying in place.
