Default my experience mounting extra 9" Fan(with pics)

Ever since I swapped the 6 speed out for the 4l80, my car has run warmer. I have not plugged in to see exact temps, but the gauge would come up to 210 and then slowly climb past that point until I turned the heat on. The extra 9" fan is a common mod on here, but I couldn't find a good write up of how to install one to the procharger shroud. Just cut a hole and wire it up. So here's my experience so others know what is involved. My car stays cool now.

First I removed the shroud/16" fan assembly from the car
Next I found this old school looking jig saw in my garage

Then I placed the spal fan on the shroud and marked the circle and cut my hole. This is what I ended up with. Good enough for government work

After my hole was cut I got 4 short self tapping screws and fastened the fan to the shroud. A little about the fan I wound up getting. It is spal's highest cfm 9" available. My car is not equipped with the power steering cooler so It fits. There are other lower cfm lower profile fans for those with the cooler.

Now I re-installed the fan assembly. It's a tight fit against the radiator hose but it works. I have my fans wired into the factory fan wiring like so...
16"Factory white----> spal red wire
Factory Black----> spal black wire
9" FactoryGray----> spal red wire
Factory Blue----> spal black
I tested using a piece of paper to make sure the fan was pulling

hopefully this helped someone
