ebay head stud users need help asap!!!! Yes I've searched and just found endless threads on not to use them. I'm installing the heads right now and need the The torque specs you guys used please. Oh I'm using arp lube. Thanks |
70lbs big studs and 28lbs on the small ones ive used them many times and also re torqued 4 times on a set of ebay studs and no problems |
I used 70 and 28 with no issues also. Make sure your torque wrench is calibrated. I was able to check mine at work and it was about 12ft lbs off. I wonder if that where a lot of the broken stud stories come from. I would have been doing 82 instead of 70 if I hadn't checked. |
Well some will say I told you so. Rounded off one of small nuts. Mind you i had installed the nuts hand tight and now that i put a socket over them I noticed some fit loose and some a tight in the socket. Gawd damn! |
used motor oil and 70lbs then i use the stock small head bolts they dont do shit anyway haha fuck putting the small studs in |
^ haha i may just try that. got an extra set of small bolts? |
I did 80 ans arp Molly lube. Was nervous about breaking one but did it anyways works awesome saved me 200 bucks too on my $300 dollar motor!! Throw them in and let it rip!!! |
I did heavy oil and 95# on the big ones and 25 on the small. Been on and off a few times total of 14 passes over them and no failures. |
Haven't received mine yet.....do you guys just go straight to 70+ lbs. or do you go in sequence like arp ( ex. 25 then 50 then 75). Thanx |
I run the, down with the cordless impact which is 30-40 the. Go 50 60 70 etc. |
i tightened mine to 80 twice and they all felt fine |
I had to go Denmah style too. The arp's I ordered are the wrong style, so had to sell them. |
