Nothing gets done in 15 days if it has anything to do with AES. It takes them longer than that to write their name on an envelope.

Well, I'm rather upset.
My AES-built motor (not an LSx - installed less than a year ago by AES) is weeping coolant around both Cometic MLS head gaskets, and I'm leaking oil from either the front main seal or timing cover. Grrr.....

For any of you wishing to voice your displeasure with AES, please PM me. All of these engine carnage pictures should be up on Yelp for display to past, current, and potentially future (LOL) customers.

Sorry to hear about your guys problems. Everyone works their *** off to buy toys and shouldn't deserve this **** in life. I just read through the entire thread.

I just wanted to say thanks for posting your experiences and not letting others who are about to purchase get bent over.

It's interesting to read the entire thread in one sitting. One thing clearly stands out. One person continuously coming to the defense of AES. Sure, post your experience you had with them, positive or negative, but I find it odd as to why a person would continue to put their own neck out there in defense when there are so many who seem to have issues.

One last thought. A good engine builder will back up their experiences with data. People in general usually do before making a decision. I chuckled at the comments about changing out oil every 2+ dyno pulls, yet they had never had the oil tested to truly know if more than 2-3 pulls are it.

If you are referencing me I am not sure why it's "odd"? I am not sticking my neck out for them. I simply gave my experience.

AES timelines change frequently.
AES customer service over the phone is sub par at best.
AES is non committal on dead lines etc...
AES appears to have slips on quality control

My PERSONAL experience is my build was very well done. I was able to inspect along each step of the way. Cylinder finish exceptional. Head resurface and valve work exceptional. Compression and leak down perfect.

Motor is making stupid power and haven't pushed any water either. Happy with my build.

This thread makes AES seem like all they do is build junk and send out broken pieces of metal. Could be. Mine isn't though. And I have seen a lot of machine shops.

I really believe, that shops who aren't very busy and have lots of time to communicate give a perception of high quality because amatuers hands are held through the entire process giving them a warm fuzzy feeling.

If you want to slam me for being honest so be it. Sounds like folks just want to hear hate only though here. Haters proceed.

Well, I just did a 3000-mile oil and filter change on my AES-built engine with their recommended Valvoline VR1 oil in a 20W-50 viscosity. All driving was on the street with NO TRACK TIME. I sent a sample to Blackstone Laboratories for analysis. Should know in a week or two if the engine's a ticking time bomb or not. I know it leaks.......one of the many things that AES said I need not worry about.
In the just-under-a-year, I have approximately 7000 miles on this motor. This was my third oil change in that time.

In 7K miles you would know if it's a ticking time bomb or not.
