Default stock 5.3 cam intake 13lbs 633whp borg s475

New to this forum and I was trying to see what other people are making for hp and what time they are running. I swapped a 5.3 into my 69 firebird. All stock at 13 lbs at made 548whp....thru a zo6 cam into it and it made 587whp at 13lbs. Did a comp cam and pro flow intake and it made 633whp at 13. Ran it in the quater mile on 275 et streets at 16lbs and got it to go 9.98 at 137 the car weighs 3600lbs with me in it. Figured its making about 710 at 16lbs. Wanted to eun 18lbs but the wastegate blew open at 16

Very nice numbers. I don't have any to share yet, but that makes me anxious to get my 5.3 turbo done.

What year/vin 5.3? Pump gas?

Good numbers. Cam and intake are working well. Not sure how we can say the s475 is doing the work at those boost levels though. Crank the boost to 25... then it will do some work. Mine really woke up at 20+. Gained 4mph in the 1/8 and 3mph in the 1/4 going from 20 to 24lbs (23.8 technically) and that was on the baby 83mm wheel and 1.10 T4.

^^^agreed the BW turbos do LOVE higher boost especially those with the extended tip design. Great numbers either way, hope to pull some similar numbers with my setup when complete and then crank her up to 20 lbs. on meth when I lift my skirt up lol.

Sweet numbers, info and gains! 137mph is about right for about 725-750 at the flywheel.

Ya for sure I planned on turning it up but didnt realize the wastegate spring was so light so I was limited at 16lbs. Its a 01 5.3 stock ecu on efi live. 16* timing the cam is 227 223 610 115lsa...I run it around at 13lbs at 633 on the street on pump gas.. I put some race gas in it and plans to go to 18lbs but that didnt happen. Im worried about lifting heads since I dont have studs or gaskets in it.

Hey, welcome. I know your car, and Justin. I'm Ron with the yellow C5 vette and the blue 69 nova.
Nice job on the 9.9 and the boot at Woodburn. Too bad you weren't out last night, track was good and Pete wasn't watching the ET's. :-)
We'd will be the last shot this year. Otherwise, see you next year. Hope to have my 5.3 up and running

Yes t6 spool isnt bad at all...With that spec cam having a smaller exhaust duration it spool quick. Even with the z06 cam it comes on quick.

Yes hows it going. I was going to go but I figured they wouldnt even tech my car since I already got a warning and my money back. Im doing the cage this winter to run it without problems. Im excited to see your run should be fast.
