Is the $165 radiator really good enough?
Before I order a radiator for my winter build I can't help but ask, is the GRI-1-25241-X for $165 really enough?
I know, I know I searched and seems that's the one everyone uses but a I haven't found a lot of feed back and since I'm running ac I really want to a good rad.
Would the GRI-1-55241-X be a better option? It has 1-1/4 tubes. Or would it not make much difference.
Car is a 4th gen lq4 with a pt88 looking to make 700+ and keeping the ac.

Or get junk yard factory fans and don't spend much money. People have had good results with the factory fans, ford taurus fan, or my self with dual pullers shrouded from an 01 saab 93 turbo

ya I wasn't sure if there was a measurable difference between the two. I'm definitely planning on getting some good fans, was thinking about using factory puller fans (not sure which ones yet) then maybe a small additional pusher fan wired to only come on when I turn on the ac.
Just hate to 'waste' $100 extra if it's not needed, but don't want to buy the 25241 only to find out I could of really benifited from the 55241.

Ya. Both the radiators I listed (and he listed) have the exact same dimensions and inlet/outlets. The 55241 has 1-1/4" tubes vs the smaller 1" tubes in the 25241.
I guess the 1-1/4" tubes are more efficient in heat transfer. I'm just not sure how much more that 1/4" of water will make?

car i used both on was a 370ci, S480, full accessory and ac street car. beating on it, temps would climb to the mid 220's and not shed the heat at all once it got warm, especially with the ac on. after the radiator swap maintained 190-200.
they also have an 85241 that has 1.5" tubes

I do agree with the person that said it is all in the fans. 100% true. Also as a note, it will not benefit you to have BOTH pusher and puller fans. Use one or the other. Honestly, the Griffin 25241 should be more than enough. It is almost as big as the factory radiator in height and length, but it is 2.25" thick vs the factory is only 1" thick. I would just make sure I had all of my ducks in a row for the cooling system. Use every advantage you can (Transam cover removed like in Tallys picture, correct thermostat, sufficient water pump that is non-underiven, water wetter, etc).

if the car cant idle with the hood down or run in stop and go traffic without over heating, you need more fan. if the car runs up to 225-230 after 3-4 hwy blast and stays at 210+ when your back to cruising at 55+, you need more radiator. ac running compounds the effect
week old meaning used a week. i finished and was running the car i wanna say in june. that was with both radiators. probably high 80's low 90's and humid outside

Ya Id have to agree with u there. If you were able to drop 20* in the same outside conditions I'm just going to buck up and get the 55241x because I only want to buy one radiator. Trying to do this right the first time....(which hasn't been my past lol)

**** for a 20 degree drop im going to get that one too. I was getting up in the 230 range with ac on 95 out in traffic.
Mt only issue is the 1/2 thicker part. I don't know if i have another 1/2 inch before my fans would hit the turbo
