Stall Converters & Turbo's I've been using the search button trying to get some answers on some questions. Basically I'll be running a turbo setup on my car this season as some know. I wanted to know should I think about changing my stall of leave it alone? I have a Vig 3200 and the turbo is a T7875. Buddy of mine thinks I'll blow right through the converter. What do you guys think? If so what would be a good stall to go to that will allow me to build boost real easy on the street/track. I only dig race so it's a big deal to me. |
Is the current Vig converter billet? I am guessing it doesn't have anti-balloon plates either? |
3200 is a good stall speed for that turbo. Stall can be very important on a turbo car. Too tight and you lose low end and spool, but going loose isn't going to be any better. Cheap converters will get blown through very easy. You might need to make the upgrade to billet with anti ballooning plates and multiple lockup disks. |
Try it and see how it acts if not upgrade to something with multi disc lockup like a circle d and you won't change it for a while..or call pro torque and get a custom one |

What is your rear gear ratio? How tall of a tire are you running? |
Was 3.73's but 3.42's are going in. Not sure in what size tire I'll be running maybe 26. |
