Crank Bolt Length for SDCE Tensioner System

Default Crank Bolt Length for SDCE Tensioner System

What is the proper length crank bolt for the SDCE kit? I saw in the Procharger instructions that they use a M16-2 x 140mm bolt (5.5 inches), but I have had zero luck finding information regarding the SDCE crank pulley bolt and its dimensions.

i was using the ARP stock replacement, I dont think there is any difference from stock on the length

I've got the stock arp replacement too, and it only grabs about one thread in the crank. The sdce pulley has quite a bit of depth, which is causing the bolt to not thread. I have arp lube on the stock pulley, and you can see it on the sdce pulley when I try to mount it, so I'm fairly certain that it's mating properly.

FYI the depth of the pulley from the back surface to the surface that meets the bolt flat edge is .75". That's quite a bit of extra distance to cover with a stock bolt

did sdce change there pulley in the last couple years? I never had any issues

Not sure, but there was no mention of needing a different crank bolt. It doesn't help that their directions are less than helpful. The LS7 crank bolt is about 1 inch longer, so it may work. I'm going to thread the piece of M16 I have until it bottoms out, mark it, and determine if the LS7 bolt will work.

Follow up: I measured the bolt length and came up with 5.00 inch max when bolting the SDCE pulley to the harmonic balancer. The LS7 harmonic balancer bolt has an UHL of 5.225". The washer that I have for my current ARP bolt measures .275" in thickness, so I'm assuming the same on the new bolt. This should leave me with .050" of clearance with the new bolt. I'll update once I receive the part and test it.

Hopefully this info will be helpful to someone else dealing with the same issue.

Update #2: The LS7 crank bolt worked, but I chose to stack two washers to be guarantee that I wouldn't bottom out the bolt. Based on my measurements, you could probably get away with one, but I didn't want to chance it.
