This is just crazy, I love it.

Going with a Whipple as soon as I get the car up and running. I may actually use the 376LSX as my basis...no brainer from the looks of it!

Not to threadjack but what do you guys have that would make some nice power on a 5.3L for a fun street strip pro-touring car? You can PM me so as to not crap up the thread. Bitchin' set up btw...

I'd say a 2.9l front feed setup would be perfect. What heads are you running on the 5.3?

I think i seen this on PT.net, very amazing build, no one will expect that family truck to haul some serious ***.

By fully built 6L80e, what exactly was done to it? Who built it?

Nothing special, 862 with springs and would be choosing a cam to match your blower. I'd be fine with the 2.3 if that gets me to consistent 10s and maintains drivability.

What kind of car? A 2.3 can defiantly make power/torque for 10's, but you'll have more heat soak spinning the blower fast. We do have cathedral port 3.3liter setups.

Sorry I'll stop derailing your thread after this...haha. It's in an '84 Cutlass Supreme. I am honestly looking for a fun driver...11s would be a hell of car. If I accidentally hit 10s, I'm not going to complain! :^)

I guess what I am thinking for now I will run the 5.3L then switch to bigger cubes (maybe a 383 or 408) so I would probably want to pick a blower that could translate after the block build.

I'll shut up now...lol thanks again!

I am not sure why such a big blower. Pretty sure I seen the 2.9 make a thousand hp. Mite been more race purpose. But damn that's a big blower on a small engine lol. I have some specs and measurement on possible fitting one in a 4th gen. Why I have them? I won't tell

That's really freaking awesome, truly. But damn, it's almost bigger than the motor. That thing has to be near 100lbs, maybe more. You could make the same power without adding so much weight. Sure as hell looks good though.

You really should tell. Bout to hit up Shane for my re-tune. I'll let you know when it will be so you can ride along if you want.

Yes a 2.9 will make 1000hp, but it'll be spinning close to its limits creating higher IAT's and more heat soak. This is our race blower. It's heavy duty and efficient. Plus 1100hp is a cake walk for it

Sure, you could make more power with a turbo or centrifugal supercharger and save some weight, but the torque curve will untouchable by them! I can't wait to see the dyno numbers! I'm betting, 800 lb/ft by 3000 rpm
