How can i tell gen3 or gen4 rods?

What size is the head of valley cover bolts? And are head bolts even lengths?

Not apart yet.. Someone said the manifold bolts? If so they are 13mm

04 year could be either. i have two 04 models. they both have all the 13mm bolts. when i had the oil pans off both i noticed one had the gen 4 and the other had gen 3.

Not always but Usually the 13mm valley bolts, and short even length head bolts are the newer style rod.
