Default Need advice on blower cam

Next week or two I will be installing my D1SC 8lbs of boost with Absolute Speed LQ9 ported stage2 heads. My question is how much power would i make with going to an emmisions legal blower cam over my current 220/220 .561/.561 114 Thunder racing cam.

The one you have will work fine, but usually a good rule of thumb is 4-6 degrees of seperation between the intake and the exhaust duration. That single pattern cam will work though cause its at least on a 114. Those 4:10 s aren't going to help with the blower either. 220/226 561/561 114 or 220/224 561/561 114 or 115 are some good examples of some thing close to what you are running but with the split duration ETC... Good luck.

Does the 4:10's = too much wheel spin or to much gear and have to shift into fifth crossing the quarter mile line?

Blowers like taller gear ratios I am not saying it won't work just that 350ish gears are what are usually prefered I am running 3:73's but that is because I am running taller tires and puts me back in the range when I had 3:42's so it just depends on your setup. Wheel spin oh yeah! You might like the 4:10's I was just making an observation on your current setup.

give Jay a call he knows of some good blower cams he can have custom grround for you. I went with a 224-230 561-571 on a 115 +5 I also am using Jays new 6.0 heads. I should have them on next weekend.

Both.
You will be faster on the street and at the track with less agressive gears, with the horsepower you will be putting down.
4.10's may have been fine while you were N/A, but now its a whole 'nother ball game.

Your 220/220 single pattern would be considered okay for a 5-6 psi ie low boost car but it would not be reccomended for 8-15psi car. I like the 222/230 or 224/230 stuff you know it's going to work and there is no downside.

I have a 230/236 but it needs to be spun higher than the 224/230 stuff.

Hey guys not to hijack the thread but how will a 230/236 .590/.578 114 +2 work on a turbo car planning of running 15-20lb's of boost and 5-8 on the street??

Moz (GMC SKI) is selling a FMS cam 224/583 230/597 114+2 with comp 918 for $375. And yeah I would put your 3:42 back in for the blower setup if it were me.
Slyws6 sounds like a good cam for a turbo car.

sly that sounds like a big cam for a turbo car, and it seems like folks like Terry H @ Cam Motion prefer reverse splits too.
