don't be scared of pro comp/ebay head studs made 1211rwhp with them yesterday lol. Long story short I hurt a motor last year was a newer 6.0 block. New block was an older block didn't realize it till I began sticking studs in so picked me up some el cheapo pro comps. Never got around to upgrading to ARP's but not sure if I will Lots of ARP lube/anti seize on the threads and torqued to 85ftlbs. Don't be scared of them just install them right. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...ps1b295e9e.jpg |
What does it do loaded down the track? |

Everything I seen people were just torquing them to 65-70 lbs. that's some serious numbers though. Just hand tightened in block? |

I've ran these on every motor in my car. Havent lifted a head or snapped one off in the block like the arp i had........whats great is change a motor and throw them in the trash. Cost 70 bucks so rather get new and re torque them. I've done 80ft lbs on them |
Awesome to hear. I will stay with the ARP's though. |
Beyond worthy of a JY engine. Great results, thanks for posting |
Anyone have a valid link to a set for a L33? I need to buy another set but can't find any working links. |
I will stay with the American-made ARP... I am sure Dong and his family appreciate your business though! |
My wife loves Phuck Mi Dong.....lol I have a new set I'm getting ready to install today into a clean block. Finger tight in the block with engine oil and arp lube on fine threads and tq to 65lbs? Is that how you did yours? |
Getting a set of the alpers head studs for my current build which will be turbo'd. Do you suggest the same torque that you used (85ft lbs) on a milder turbo engine? |
There was a thread on here before where most people were installing by hand then were torquing in 3 passes: 25, 50, 75. This was in general, some people torqued less (up to 70 lbs) and some went beyond. But it was somewhat of a general consensus that the 25, 50, 75 was appropriate. |
Where you guys ordering these from? |
Ebay. It's the ones with 3 different lengths. |

Well, after posting on tHis thread a few weeks ago, I snapped one tonight at 70lbs. Don't know what happened. Arp lube and threads were spotless. It always seems like I'm that guy. Anyone know if I can order one of these individually? |
