So time to start pulling the car apart. Trans out need to order a new driveshaft. Gears and axles are going up for sale. 4.30's with 35 Spline axles 1/2 Studs.
Trans is an ATI 400 with an internal brake have any of you had experience with them? Good/Bad???
Still deciding between keeping my gauges and going to the Holley Dash. Motor will be dropped in next week

What's wrong with the th400 and driveshaft? Are you going to 5/8" studs and that's why you're getting rid of the axles?

I personally love the gauges. All you would need to do is add the holley light for any saftety features that get initiated. Everything will be logged any ways.

400 has an internal brake which i am hearing is junk. and the driveshaft needs to be upgraded to either aluminum or the carbon fiber one. I'm going to 5/8 studs and need to see if they can be drilled for them if not they need to go. I had this issue on my old car studs kept coming loose
As for the gauges i do like the set up also. Just going to put a stock radio back in and get 3 more gauges under it so i might just do the light also since everything is logged through the Holley

Kinda figured that. Not sure on the internal brake though. The axles can be drilled. The best option is to send them to moser and have them do it due to the harness of the flange. I'd go with a DOM driveshaft, unless you have some reason you need the other material.

My axles were sent to strange to get shortened and drilled for 5/8 studs. 5/8 studs changed my life, no shanked lug nuts anymore, just a nut and washer, lol.

haha so much easier! i did them with the old car and loved it. I honestly dont get why any upgraded rear end doesnt have them. Its the same price to order axles with 5/8's as 1/2 and obviously stronger.

I'd rather over do it on the studs because we all have seen the videos of them snapping and it's not pretty! Haha

love this hot side and the position of the gates. One of the cleanest looking setups that I've seen made so far

That hotside looks great! I'm going to try to brace mine similar to yours. What does the bottom brace arm bolt to?
