Question for the Turbo guru's...

Thinking about going with a turbo setup. Humor me for just a min here.

Lets say im going to use my stock motor. Right now, its pushing 400+rwhp with 5.3L heads (cr 10.6-10.8?) with FMS 228/230 cam. (rest of the boltons) Could i still use this cam? or would it be more hurtful than helpful?

Lets say for instance i wanted to go with the STS kit. On only 5psi (with a upgraded FP and INJs) what kinda hp would i be looking at? Theoretically, if the 5psi level puts nearly 100-125rwhp gain....would that put me over 500 now safely?

(whenever i do it....i'll prolly go with forged internals on the stock cube)

But any info yall can give me will help alot....:D

We need to know the LSA of the cam. If it's 114 or higher you'll be alright.

Like was said...114 or even 116 and not much duration is needed.

id change the cam, that low lsa might not help.
id also go back to stock or lower CR. especially since you wont be having a IC.

you could trade those 5.3's with some 6.0 heads
so basically those mods that brought your HP up high CR heads, low lsa cam, exhaust wont help you here. your pretty much starting from stock. so i wouldnt plan on 500psi with 5psi you will have to be close or over 10psi.

its a whole difernt ball game.

still i think the sts is to peaky, youz needz mad torquez acrozz your rpm band yo :)
