May swap my PT7675 for a PT8285....Pics inside
So my buddy has this PT8285 CEA BB GT45 style turbo for sale. I've recently tore off my hotside to see how much room I have to fit a bigger downpipe as my PT7675 I believe is choking on the 3" DP i have in there. I am planning on getting a BMR Turbo Kmember to accommodate the DP to my cutout/exhaust. Well after BS'n with my friend I decided for S's and G's that I'd mock it up to see if it would even fit. Sure as **** it fit and really snug, but clears everything. It's definitely larger than the PT7675 but hell if it's minimal work to do the swap I kinda feel like I should do it while I have the opportunity especially if I am going to get my DP reworked.
Whats everyones thoughts on the PT8285? It's pricey brand new, but I'm getting it for a good price used from someone I trust.

Yes thats a no brainer especially because you are most likely choking due to turbo size and not downpipe size. Also, nice car. I have a White Turbo Ws6 too, live in Chicago.

Granted they have a smaller engine, Supra guys make over 1200whp with them. I would definitely go for it.
P.S. I would also use the V-Band outlet on the compressor, as opposed to cutting it off.

Everything I've read on this turbo is that it's a bad *** turbo, but costly. Well i'm getting it for a deal so that kinda makes it more feasible and it's minimal modification to make it fit. I'll update as I get this thing installed and on the dyno.

I'm not sure what to expect with the new turbo just yet. I'd like to get 8's out of it. I just sold the pt7675 so now I'm married to this new setup. I'll be getting a downpipe for it soon and will try to get it on the dyno. I may just street tune it and take it to the track to see what it can do sans dyno. I really need to assess how much fuel pump I have as I'm running dual 340's. That may be my next restriction.
Fwiw my buddies supra that this turbo came off of went 198mph in the standing half mile
