Default hx1e holset turbo with 4.8

I have a question I have a holset h1e which is the older version of a hx40. this will be going on a stock 4.8 as a single turbo set up.I haven't found a lot of info with this holset turbos on a lsx platform I just want to know what power could be made from this turbo and a 4.8.Or would i just be better off getting a gt45 I am trying to make 525 hp at the crank or close to that.

I know nothing about the specs on that turbo you have, but for $250 i would say go with a proven gt45.

Take the compressor cover off and measure the wheel. I think that the H1E came in 3 varieties. Unfortunately the biggest of them being a 60mm compressor. The large turbine might help it out, but that thing is going to be pushing about 500 HP full-tilt. If you have the 50mm version, its a paper-weight.

The cheap ebay GT45 can make 720-750 at the flywheel. Even for a chinese turbo, its still newer technology and a bigger compressor than the H1E.
