Been lurking for over 2.5 years, finally time to start posting. I picked up a used LQ4 shortblock a couple years ago, had it cleaned, cylinders honed, line honed the mains, new cam bearings pressed in. I put it together with clevite bearings and hastings rings.

Next was a cam, I picked up a QM Black Mamba cam from a local guy. Then I picked up some CNC ported LS3 heads, LS9 head gaskets along with some stock rocker arms and a comp cam trunion bearing upgrade kit.

Found a decent deal on a noisy LSA blower, also picked up a Lingenfelter solid isolator to fix it up with.

I checked the PTV clearance with the Black Mamba cam and found I had none! Then I ordered an LS9 cam. Great, but it is missing something... Oh the rear cam trigger! Just ordered up a front cam trigger setup (front timing cover, cam sprocket with half moon trigger...).

Here is the engine as she sits until more parts come in.
