Default 900whp turbo auto car... what tires?

I recently posted a thread about the power i made so far with my 416 s480 combo, i run around 100% of the time on my 17x4.5 15x10 billet specialty setup.. so Ive been set on 295 et streets, anyone have any reccomendation for better tires or comments on the MT's? Its a 90% street car that I want to hook up on the street, i considered nittos but i also wanna cut 1.3's or so at the track when i go... qtp's are out of the question as the street eats them up so quick and thats whats on my car now, doesnt feel stable at high speeds all on the street. Thanks guys

275 ET pros will do the trick, but not sure how many miles you can get from a set. I know they will hook though!

295/55 on my car. Holds well in 2nd gear rolls from 40-50 mph and up on full power. Hold really good on lower mid range power. 1.3 track 60's no problem. Dont last very long tho if your goin to track often and burning tire on the streets lol

I agree that 275 pros will work at the track, but I have seen many people say they dont last long at all on the street.

Maybe use the standard MT 275 on the street. And pick up a spare set of wheels and tires for the track?

My Pro's hook up awesome on the track. If you put them on the Dyno or street you wont have them long

Ive thought of that, but i have the f body specific beadlock rears, so if my car is moving im rockin those lol.

Also the Pro's do seem to work at the track, but like i said, im 90% street use, so im mooostly concerned with hookin on the street.. Im still leanin towards the 295 ET's.. i appreciate all te input so far

Mickeys new et "R" tire is based on the 275 pro but is street approved and will come in 325/50 size, that's what I'm going to use.

What does street approved mean? The PRO is a DOT legal tire.

Thats badass! I see in the ET R series theres going to be a bias ply, and a radial.. i want a radial im done with Bias on the street..
90000024644 3555 P325/50R15 28X13.50R15 R2. 27.8

seems like on mickeys site thats the only 28inch tall radial compound tire for a 15inch rim.... my onlly problem is how the hell ima fit a 325, i like my car low and it seems ppl with 325's sit so damn high in the back.. what would you guys do? i love the new design on the tire, but idk its either makin these puppies fit onna 10wide, or gettin the 295/55 et streets, ole faithfuls

Try an M&H drag radial, will change your life. My 900whp auto loves them even on a 17 inch rim. I run 275-50-17 and go 1.4 60s in my 3850lbs car on 4 psi launch

Assuming you don't have room for the 325 50 drag radial the 295 would give you the biggest contact patch in the 28" tall mt tires. If you have room for a 30" tall tire the 315 will give you more tire on the ground. Also if you went to a wider wheel (which if you already paid for beadlocks I'm sure you don't want to do) you could pick up some more contact on a 12" or 14" wheel.

I ran 325s last season and they worked well. I just went to the 30" 315 for this season.

Mickey says right on their website not for street use, it's simply dot approved for competition classes that state dot radial.

Right I get that. What I'm asking is what makes the tire "street approved?" As far as I can see the only difference is some groves for water direction.

That's part of your answer, plus the fact that it does not say "not for highway use" won't give law enforcement anything to cry about.

The pros won't last long, heck the classics don't even last for **** when you have power even if you don't black track them

I often wonder what "not for highway use" means. I think that is MT's recommendation more so than a requirement. As far as I'm concerned if it has a DOT stamp on it, There isn't a thing the police can do about it.

I run the 275 pros, but have a set of the 325/50 et r's on order to try out.
