4.8 crank and rods forged pistons. reliabilty
Im considering putting forged pistons with my 09 4.8 crank and rods. What type of power would you guys find being a reliable power? It would get ARP rod bolts of course and have a on3 88mm. Looking for 750whp. I've read the new rods being stronger and the pistons being the weak link. Thanks for the oppinions

I think at that power level you will be golden...
I like that combo...The shorter stroke of the 4.8 crank is stronger, the new style rods should be good to that hp, and forged pistons will be stronger and more forgiving if the tune is not spot on.
If you are running the 88/83 turbo I think that will be a sweet combo with that engine...
Interested in the results as that is a combo I have been contemplating on using.
That being said....Depending on what/who's pistons you use, the stock rods will be the "weak" link in the rotating assembly.

IMHO the Gen 4 4.8 is the strongest of the stock bottom ends. 750whp with a great tune shouldn't make it break a sweat. That short stroke and great rod/stroke ratio are heavily in its favor.
