2000 Z28 6.0 LY6 7875 Turbo Build
So figured it was time to start a build thread as a place to ask questions and get input from everyone.
Bought a roller for $500 on craigslist.
Then started cutting away with the sawzall.
Then I bought a 4.8 on craigslist that looked great on the outside. Very clean and looked relatively low miles. Well it wasn't, got it home and found a bent rod. But I have a full gen 4 rotating assembly with the beefier rods and floating wrist pins to swap in that's just about brand new so no big deal.
Also I don't think the oil had ever been changed, more sludge then id ever seen. anyways it's getting sent out to get hot tanked and have new cam bearings installed.
My friend got me an on3 7875 for it that should be here Tuesday. It's been a lot of fun so far and there's still a long way to go but post any suggestions or questions if you will.

Not much to update. Put the extra motor in (junk block it's broke in many places) Got my accesories figured out. I'm using truck accesories and keeping ac with the alternator relocated to the passenger head. Also got the manifolds where I want them it's 2 passenger truck manifolds one upside down on the passenger side and the other flipped to the driver side. Just waiting on v-bands and some tubing at this point.
Got bored so I pulled the interior and started laying a dynomat like insulator (frost king duct insulation) doing the whole interior top to bottom.

I like where this is headed.
What's the scoop on this duct insulation? Budget build dynomat? Does it do even remotely as well of a job as dynomat?
What's your plans for it in the end? Manly man suspension for some road course action? Fats and skinnies for the 1320?
Given that you're adding insulation and keeping the a/c, I'm guessing it's going to see a fair amount of street use.

The insulation is made by frost king just google it. It's great stuff at a great price.

Mocked it up in cardboard and I think it's going to work very well. Also it should be pretty easy to make out of aluminum sheet metal. I also plan to make the lense removable so on the street it goes through the air box (headlight) with the filter and on the track pull the lense off and it's a ram air.

Thanks guys. I know it's a little different but I think it's pretty awesome.
I got some goodies in today. Vbands, t4 flange and all the tubing. Welded one of the vbands on and it welded great to the cast which was a little surprising.
Now I'm on the hunt for a 4l80, I don't want to weld up the hotside until the trans is in because I know it's going to pull down on the rear of the motor even with the solid mounts that are in it.
