Would my car not overheat or at-least go up in temp driving it around and getting on it if the head gasket was leaking?

My car was doing the same thing... pushing water out of the cap spraying all over the engine bay when driven hard under boost but still ran great and never overheated (forged ls1 with a D1 on 10 lbs)... radiator had a brand new starret cap on it and everyone was saying bad head gasket... changed back to a new factory GM cap and it has never happened again no matter how hard i beat on it.. try that before tearing the damn thing down

Not if its only doing it under load or at a certain CYL pressure.

Oh trust me, im trying dang near everything before tearing it down. I took off my GM cap and put one from Orileys on and it stopped the spray from that area. im not sure if it was the cap that caused the spray from that area or if it was the fact that I didnt have a clamp on the steam port return . Either way the last time I took it out I made 3 pulls and checked for spray and the the catch can POS only had like a spray paint top full of coolant in it which I would so would be normal.

Either way, the the big overflow that actually performs correctly is about done so ill test it Saturday.

Sounds like were twins! I cant stand for something to not be right!

Honestly I would think its fine but who knows. Ive talked to the tuner a few times and he said there is no way its lifting a head. Who knows though. The suspense is killing me though. Im going to put this tank on it tomorrow and go rip on it for a few and see what happens.

My tuner also has a test kit that test for combustion in coolant. Going to use that Saturday after we mess with it on the dyno.

Good luck dude. Sucks to see you've had all these issue. I'm genuinely hoping for the best. You seem motivated to get the car running right so keep at it. Coming from someone who has had a lot of issues getting **** right my advise is keep at it, its worth it in the end.

Ditto.

Been there.

There's definitely a point where it starts getting more & more time consuming & expensive.

Really just the time. Money of coarse sucks too. Don't get me wrong, I didn't expect a 950rwhp blower car to be all fairies and stuff but I don't want to work on it more than I drive it.

Re torqued heads to 90. They were all kinda different. Some were like 80 and some 90. Maybe the unevenness made for a situation to creep water by. Who knows. I'll post the pic of the overflow box in a few.

Keep us posted

Still pushing it looks like. I'm going to back off on the timing and put the go pro in it and see what happens when I get time.
