Default Critique my planned turbo build

2002 Camaro Z28

Goal: 580-600rwhp

Car specs:

212/218 .555/.555 115lsa Cam
Stock manifolds and piping with heat wrap
Stock Ls6 Intake
Ported/Milled 241s (11:1 Compression)
Stock Internals and block
Might do a Speed Density Tune, still deciding
Running 100% E85, I have methanol injection if needed
Currie 9" Rear End
Stock T56

Turbo Kit:

STS Kit w/ 67mm Garrett T4 Turbo .81ar (Might upgrade to a 76mm since 67 might be too small)
Going rear mount because it doesn't disturb my accessories and its smog legal in CA

Fuel System:

Single 460lph Walbro E85 Pump (Should be at the limit)
80lb Injectors
Stock Lines and Rails
Do I need an aftermarket regulator?

Already bought the 460? I think there's a new model walbro that flows more for the same price, also 80lb are a no go, buy 120 at least

I think wheel upgrade, drop the compression to 10:1 or so, stock regulator works for many others and speed density tune for sure. But I also don't know my *** from a hole in the ground, so take that for what it's worth. hahaha!

Good luck with your build!

Thanks, good to hear that the stock regulator will most likely work. Ill look up if there is a larger pump than the 460

11:1 CR has to go, or really soften the tune like subtract 5 degrees of spark, 11:1 AFR, etc.

Ditch the rear mount and go front mount.

we have a front mount kit that will keep all of your accessories where they belong, including air conditioning if you want to keep it!

if you are interested, shoot me an email and I will set you up with some pricing. if you haven't purchased the rear mount kit yet its worth a shot!

My reason for going rear mount is packaging. I am trying to stick to a low budget and found a nice sts kit locally. I don't want to relocate any accessories or get an aftermarket k member to retain ac. Plus, its a big plus to me that the kit is smog legal so I can drive around without the risk of getting a ref ticket in California.

fwiw I'am finishing my single rear mount build. If you are going sts due to the price, I would invest a little coin in the oil scavenge pump. The one that comes with the kit is loud and not the best. I would suggest the werx pump. also make sure you have one way check valves so the oil doesn't build up in your turbos and blow out the seals. I no nothing on e85 but good luck and post a build thread with lots of pictures.

You are going to be cammed with no cats, if the cop wants to ref you he will. He won't care the STS is legal, he'll just send you to the ref to let them sort you out.
