Congratulations on the milestone achievement. What RPM did it pull at 0 boost? Or did it not make it off the trailer yet?

Video? I'd absolutely love some video...

Thanks, only made it off the trailer for a little play, tuner told me not to go over 3500rpm as not tuned properly yet, actually felt quite lively for having waste gates disassembled for no boost, was great to get it wet anyway. Had a vacuum leak, was the iac unit which is not wired in so screwed it hard out so hole is blocked, thats fixed that. Thanks to everyone who threw there ideas and opinions my way to help me get to this point. I will get some video once tuning is complete

quick look at your air filter, and maybe you should read this:

That's really bad, thanks for the heads up. What filters should I change to? Was thinking K&N but I see they aren't all they are cracked up to be and have similar issues.

Since, in our application, there's not really any restrictions that limit size like packaging under the hood of a car might present... I'd go as big as you can.

Something like this, or bigger if you can find one, is what I plan on using. I've even seen some with a little stud to mount a support bracket to on the non turbo end. Not seeing one in my quick search. I'll let ya know if I find it.

This sound ruff but il say it, what about if I simply drill a hole all the way through button, put a good bolt through with big flat washers and a nylock nut and clamp the button thingy together so it simply cant separate? That would work wouldn't it?

I've never seen a K&N ever designed with internal parts that can fall off and into an engine.

Yes it would.

Metal parts on outside falling off arent a concern, it's only if they are inside the filter.

Middle of an ocean... Yes, that's true

On a river that winds through farms that are being plowed, a desert, or any dry climate... Won't find me without one.

Any location really..when you've tons of room for filters, it's just dumb not to run them.

Hell a nut could come loose somewhere, some wiring anything could happen that might allow the turbo to ingest something. It might be rare, but it's a possibility. Filters are cheap

If there were serious space constraints, then yes you could maybe overlook a filter in extreme applications.....with the risks that carries.

AFE power makes some pretty good dry filters. Also make sure the turbos aren't "free wheeling" while you are towing the boat. Buddy ruined both his turbos towing them long distance with the wheels turning in the wind with no oil feeding the bearings.

Good point. Baseball cap, a plastic bag ya thought was securely stuffed into a crevice, strands of hair from a long hair passenger, sunglasses that fly off when ya look over your shoulder... tons of stuff to keep outta there with a filter in a boat.
